This WAS a marvellous place
priced out - as Fitzrovia News says -
by greedy landlords : however you can still buy
some of their reasonably priced originals by
emailing : http://www.politicalcartoon.co.uk/
Sadly the gallery has shut up shop after being priced out of the premises by the rent hike imposed by landlords the Bedford Estate.

It is amazing to see the original artworks behind those political cartoons you get in newspapers - larger, bright and colourful and full of incredible detail. Caricatures of politicians over the years are fascinating and vary from artist to artist. Tony Blair’s huge ears are particularly awe inspiring on one picture. There are older cartoons from Punch (the politics behind then explained in a few sentences - more could be helpful for those ignorant like myself!) and recent caricatures from both Gulf wars. Even the toilets are decorated with an original artist’s, well, toilet humour! The one pound entrance fee is refundable with a purchase of cards, mugs, prints and books for sale.
