Great pricing and they get the job done. Though the setting may not be as nice as a regular spa, the prices are great.
As it has been said before great value for the money. The students are keen and have done a great job every time I’ve been in.
Keep in mind it takes a little longer than normal as they have to have their instructors inspect what they have done and have you fill out questionnairs. All in all this only adds an extra 5/10 minutes though.
Undoubtedly the best value for money, but one thing not to forget, which I did, is that this is not a salon. It’s effectively a finishing school for students practising to become professionals.
This is evident in things taking longer, mistakes being made, head teachers having to 'check’ a job when it is complete and a score sheet given to you to evaluate the person who attended to you.
I went in for two treatments prior to a holiday - a wax which went very well and a manicure which didn’t. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment and the lady said both treatments would be shortened slightly accordingly which I was fine with. So I missed out on the hand massage and cuticle bit on the nails, but still ran over 20 minutes. Quite a few of the nails had to be redone after the final coat from the technician smudging them and once I’d gone home I found the colour had hardened into bubbles. They remedied this the next day but I was not allowed to use the same colour and all the rest were only in shades of pink which wasn’t ideal.
So I’d return for other treatments, but not nails, not right before a holiday and not when time is of an essence. If you want top service and quality, pay top prices. If you’re okay to go out on a limb then go for it.
This lovely mid work day gift was such a treat. It’s a smart place that offers luch break taiolred treatments for a great price!
They have a full range on offer- nails and tinting and facials and massage.
My massage was great, I was aware of her being a hesitant student only a couple of times (considering I am the child of someone who was a massage therapist for 26 years this is no small feat).
The corridor of massage rooms is a bit odd- but everything was clean and professional, and I will nto hesitate to return to their care again and again!
If you’re feeling poor but fancy a massage, facial or manicure this is the place to go. The salon, just off Oxford Circus, is the training ground for students from the London School of Beauty and Makeup. Although the interior is nothing to write home about - it’s slightly reminiscent of a hospital ward - the treatments are superb.
On my last visit I treated myself to a hot stone massage, which at £30 comprised an hour and a half of utter bliss. I would never have known the masseuse was a student - in fact, she was so good that I fell asleep and then spent the rest of the day in a fuzzy haze of happiness.
I’ll definitely be going back. It’s just hard to know which treatment to choose next.
This is the student salon of the London School of Beauty & Makeup, and it’s a nice place to go to treat yourself on a budget. As it’s students doing the treatments, the place is much cheaper than elsewhere, plus you get the benefit of the students really wanting to do their best! I had a facial there, which I really enjoyed! I could tell that the student was still fairly new as she was a bit insecure about some of the steps, but hey - that’s why it is a student salon! The final massage she gave my face was wonderful, and overall, it was very good value for the money. I will certainly go back there!
