Visited for the first time in many months on Friday 18th May. Tables were dirty, dirty glasses piled up on the bar, dirty glasses not collected. So much so, my daughter wanted to clear up!! Food was dry, so not as enjoyable as in the past. Disappointing, Windmill, what’s going on?

Pub tired looking & could do with a refurbishment.The Air quality is stifling as they dont have the air conditioning working so on hot days its overbearing. Meal you get what you pay for, drinks overly expensive. Can get v busy early evenings on weekdays with queuing & out of control children left to run around. Treat it as fast food & get out of there asap (or dont go in in the first place) as there are much nicer carveries around all be it for a little bit more!

Apparently caps are not allowed to be worn in the carvery and this is not publicised. Only when we were seated with our meal and drink were we told this by the manageress. No other member of staff pointed this out to us, on this occasion or on the numerous times we have eaten there before. Our only options, barring removing the cap which was not possible, was to eat in the vault! or take a refund. Very unprofessional. So a quiet family meal with our daughter granddaughter and her father was ruined by a jobsworth manageress. If you have house rules, please advertise them or at least inform your staff.

A large pub in denton now more of a resturant / carveryThe pub gets very busy but the service is top class.The pub has two cask beers on sale at under two pounds a pint both in good condition.Children are welcome and childs meals are cheap and good value.

BPU37, 19 May 2012:Sorry you had a bad day at the Windmill Julie, i can only report on how we found it which was quite a while ago and the only time i have been there. As an ex licencee of thirty five years it is my opinion that these pubs only get in the state you have discribed though bad management or lack of management. Hope you can find a better pub in your area.
