The rather non-descript exterior hides a wonderful seafood restaurant.
The interior is classical and elegant and if proof was needed that this is a fantastic restaurant, every table was occupied when we arrived at 8:30pm and when we left after midnight (on a Wednesday evening).
I visited with a group of 13 colleagues after a meeting in Barcelona and my fellow diners are foodies with exacting standards. Many have made a point of returning if they are anywhere near Barcelona.
The seafood platter for 2 was a thing of beauty and I watched two big guys struggle to get through everything. The platter consisted of lobster, crayfish, crab, prawns and a number of other delicacies I couldn’t identify!
For starters we ordered a huge selection of Spanish meats, croquettes and salads and these were superb.
I shared an excellent paella with one of my colleagues, but was mock-scolded by one of our Spanish managers for ordering a lunch-time dish for dinner. We argued that a strictly lunch-time dish shouldn’t be on a dinner menu, but it fell on deaf ears.
This is an expensive restaurant, with exquisite food and service and the atmosphere is refined sophistication so not one to visit if you’re on a rowdy hen or stag weekend, but perfect for a work dinner or a special night out with a partner.
