this review seems to be in the wrong place. the entry is about the bar on the ground floor of the young vic, not the market
(did you mean lower marsh street?)

cool vibe to the whole bar/building. loving the architecture, and the bars roof terrace bit is great and dose get the sun through the afternoon, drinks are perhaps a little bit more pricey, but i reckon its worth it for the location. Gets the creative juices flowing.

This is a bar/restaurant inside the Young Vic Theatre. Interesting space on the ground floor with rustic tables and sofas, alongside traditional dining tables. Great terrace on the upper floor.
Excellent choice of drinks and a quirky menu. The food menu has got some interesting dishes, but if you are after something more traditional, I’d recommend the home made burger.
Great place for drinks and food.

Great for private functions. The mezanine floor is nice and open aired and allows for the buzz from downstairs to 'float up’. The food for our private party was great, with salmon, proscutto, cheeses, and other lovely foods. The house wine was delicious. Central location, with easy transport links for late nights!

Thi sis a good for a grousp especially if you need aplace for parties. Making resevation is free in advance for groups and is you are lucky and places are available you should book for the bar upstair where there is an outdoor terrace. It is fantastice during summer and great for smokers and cigar lover like me. Drinks are reasonable price, almost like pub price and so you don’t need to worry about overpriced drinks in designer bars. the decor is quite hip and trendy, a more alternative style which is quite impressive.

The Independent
"There isn't a more sociable bar and restaurant in any London Theatre and last night it was humming."
Time Out
"The design eschews obvious theatricality in favour of clean-lined, spacious tastefulness: dark wood, stone floor and big windows to watch the world go by. A decent wine list, 20 or so cocktails (£6-£6.50) and chilled music help attract more women. Upstairs an L-shaped mezzanine bar offers an eyrie with slouchy sofas and a slightly more boho vibe."
Worlds Best Bars
"The recently refurbished Young Vic is one of London's best theatres, staging consistently exciting new work. Housed in an architecturally innovative (and Stirling Prize-nominated) building, it's a superb performance space and a real cultural hotspot - and now where the old Konditor and Cook café once stood, it also boasts a sleek, new, Shoreditch-esque bar. Popular, not just with theatregoers, but with a buzzy post-work crowd, its chief attraction is its open air terrace and its airy, high-ceilinged lay-out. Quality cocktails are served and it's a popular place to eat whether you're planning to see a show or not, with a menu that makes a big deal of its organic, sustainable produce."

Good bar at the Young Vic, plenty of seats downstairs, with more upstairs, and a sunny terrace/deck.
Young and friendly staff.
My pastrami sandwich was excellent.
And only 5 minutes from Waterloo.

This is a lovely little street market that is open week days. They sellers are really friendly and are always happy to do a deal for you. There are also clothes stores and lots of cafes and take out places. A great sweet little market, go and have a look.

anastasiaf, 21 January 2009:
This bar and restaurant is located within the Stirling Prize nominated building - Young Vic. It is a cool place to have parties! I just had my boyfriend’s birthday party in The Cut. The bar/restaurant is spread over two storeys. The ground floor has a fantastic double height space while the upper floor has a open air terrace, great for cigars!!!
I have been there several times and I am still loving it! It is definitely a hip place to be!
