this is a great hotel! we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights together with our 11-month-old daughter. upon arrival they informed us that they upgraded us from double room superior to Junior suite, so we have no complaints at all for the room. people at the reception were extremely kind. breakfast was really good with a delicious variety of ‘bio’ food, too.
be aware that the terrass of course is closed in rainy times. you can have an outlook during the day in rainy days, but it was locked in the evening.
the hotel is located at the fringe of a very nice area in Montmartre with lots of cosy restaurants, bakeries and cafés nearby. metro is rather close, bus no. 95 (which stops just 50 metres from the hotel) brings you directly to ‘downtown’ area (Opéra, Louvre). perfect!
Terrass’ Hotel is a great place to stay with a truly superb restaurant, unsurprisingly known as Restaurant La Terrass’.
The restaurant is on the ground floor, but in fine weather meals can be served from the grillade on the seventh floor balcony, a little known fact which surprises a lot of Parisians, let alone visitors, and the night views over the city are rather splendid. However the true pleasure is the menu: great fish here, and some interesting Camargue based dishes – if you are not faint hearted, try the Camarguise pig’s head!
The bedroom are large, many facing out onto Montparnasse and the cemetery, giving an open green vista that is rare in a capital city. Some suites have roman type baths, others are more Louis XVI, but all are of a good size for Parisian hotel space. In winter there are open fires in the reception area and the piano is played all year round, giving a wonderful air of relaxation and hedonism. Look out for some exceptional antique pieces around the hotel, especially some really good tapestries. This is a big hotel, which makes it all the more unusual not to have its own parking, but it doesn’t. Nearby attractions include the Moulin Rouge – not to be missed!

uper place!
You have to try it, especially the beautiful day when the Terrace, 7th floor, is open for lunch and dinner with Paris at his feet.
