Boden was a shop my friends always made a trip to to buy for their children or friends having babies. If it's good quality, then you'll go back again & again! I miss London & all the great shops & market outlets for fashion, crafts, food etc.Borough Market,Covent Garden,Spittalfields,Camden and those my brain has forgotten ......... I did all the London Street markets with my parents in the 60s,revisted them with my young children & again when they left home.
I now only 'hear' about the gems people find,so it's time I went back :) Hard to find unusual good children's clothing here,so on-line stores must be a lifeline for mothers in the Cheshire Triangle!
The Treacle Market held in Chestergate & Market Place by the Town Hall in the centre of Macclesfield the last Sunday every month has now been running for a year this July! This is a mini Greenwich Market!Fantastic stalls of good quality produce, antiques, paintings, jewelry, food, children's clothing etc... There is a bustle of activity, live bands and things children can join in.I love it! A MUST for anyone visiting Cheshire! http://www.treaclemacclesfield.co.uk/treacle-market-gallery
I first discovered Boden last Spring. I randomly came across their website, and bought a few items, one of which was a lovely pink jumper with stripes that I keep washing & wearing, and its still retained its shape.
I'd never been to their store as their nearest is this one in Hanger Green (which isn't local). However, one Sunday, I decided I'd like to visit as I saw a few coats that I liked online, and it's always best try them on (I don't really like the hassle of returning & waiting ages to be refunded).
Transport-wise it was a 20 mins journey for me, I just took the Piccadilly Line to Hanger Lane Underground Station. You can't miss the store, it's just on your left as you exit the station (I couldn't see any other fashion shops around here). The store itself is big, they have a vast array of womens, baby & childrens clothing. The staff aren't intimidating and leave you to browse in peace, which makes a change...
In all honesty, I probably wouldn't venture here again, not because of the store, but there is nothing else to see in the area, and it's not local. Instead, I'll just stick to ordering online.

I love this store and their products. I have never bought any Boden items for myself but have for my young son and because the items are so expensive I always wait for their sales.
The items are fantastic quality and last and last. The products themselves are lovely especially for boys as it can be hard to find unusual and attractive clothing for boys but Boden have a style of their own.
They also have a very good resale value for eg on ebay, as people know how good their products are.

Boden sell wonderful, fashionable, different and high quality clothing, especially for children. They charge more than other stores but are worth every penny, and they have a great resale value. I would always recommend going to the Boden store, but take your credit card!

If, like me, you prefer to see and try on clothes before you buy them, then you may want to know about the Boden clothes shop in Park Royal. True, it’s not centrally located. However, it is easy to get to - off the A40, just before the Hangers Lane Gyratory System and a minute from the Park Royal Tube Station.
For those that don’t know about Boden, it is (primarily) a mail order/Internet clothes manufacturer. It does well made clothes for women, men and kids. The clothes aren’t cheap, but they will last. I’ve had one pair of trousers last through my two kids, AND my two nieces! The kids clothes in particular have fun designs and are always a big hit with my kids.
The staff at the shop are very helpful - friendly, but not pushy. If you don’t see the size you need, ask someone - they may have it in the back. This is one of the few places I will ask the staff what they think about an item on me. The answers seem honest and ranges from “very nice” to “not your colour… have you seen the blue one - I’ll get it for you”, and of course, “do you want to try another size?”.
Be warned, the shop doesn’t stock everything from the catalogues, so you may need to order it after all.
