Fairlop Waters is most known locally for the sailing and windsurfing on offer. The complex is basically a huge manmade lake, with an area around for dog walking, picnics etc. On site there is also a restaurant and a decent party venue that can be hired out. I used to visit the centre as a child for the famous ‘Al’s Adventure House’, which was a large indoor play area for children, though I am unaware as to whether it has survived and is still part of the complex. If you are local to the area and fancy somewhere new to walk a dog or simply for a change of scenery, I recommend taking a look, the parking spaces are vast and free so you’ve nothing to lose.
