As far as children’s indoor softplay centres go this is a good one. It’s members-only, but costs just £5 to join. The activity area is a labyrinth of tunnels going up, around and down. I’m told the big slide where you can race your friends is good fun. There’s also a smaller climbing area for younger children with a ball pit.
Unlike some others indoor softplay centre, Topsy Turvy is set over two floors. The top floor has a special quiet play area just for younger kids. This floor is a good place to sit, as it is generally less noisy/crowded than downstairs.
The food at Topsy Turvy isn’t bad. You can have a decent cappuccino and the kids can snack on a cheese and fruit platter or pizza.
We’ve been to several birthday parties here and enjoyed them. You don’t get exclusive usage of the climbing area, but you do get a private room to eat in.
As with all of these types of places, Topsy Turvey gets jammed on the weekends and after school. But, if you go when less people are likely to be there (perhaps inset day), then you can let the kids wear themselves out in relative tranquility.
