I was playing squash a few weeks ago at the leisure centre in the morning and had a great game, but, the last game I went down with a pulled calf muscle or something that ripped. My friend who wanted to do something to easy the pain flew off to reception to get some ice packs, either from first aid or to buy but was told that they did not have any ice packs or in fact they do not have a first aid kit…….Lets hope that the female on reception was just being lazy.. I have 37 staff and 4 full first aid boxes.
I hobbled to the car and then broke the law to drive home.
I think the centre is well run and we always have a good game and it works well just turning up and booking a court.
2 games each… deciding match 5 points to me and 1 to her and I get this email that evening
“All sympathy aside I guess that means I win by default?” Hard woman

I’ve used the swimming pool, squash courts & gym here. The swimming pool is OK, basically it’s exactly what you would expect from a swimming pool - it sometimes gets crowded but they all do.
Some of the squash courts are alright but if you’re unlucky you’ll get one with broken lights so you’ll be playing in near darkness which obviously affects the game. They could also be better looked after.
As for the gym - they’ve just put in new equipment which is excellent and there are plenty of machines so you rarely have to wait to use any of them.
But what really lets this place down is the staff. The staff on reception are appalling - they not only completely lack customer service skills but some seem to go out of their way to be deliberately rude or unhelpful.
I visited this place for over a year and the staff were always terrible - it really spoils the whole place and is what made me finally decide to join a private gym.
Until they improve the staff this leisure centre will never be an option.

I have been swimming here a few times and had a good look around the gym. I decided not to join the gym just for money reasons really but it was well equipped and if you live locally it would fulfill your ‘no frills’ gym needs and you can use the pool too which some gyms, however nice, can not offer you. The pool is ok but the open swimming times are a little restricted due to school and swimming club usage. I have heard that there has been occasions where by people have discovered ‘floaters’ in here but I havent seen this yet and its relatively clean the times that I have been there. The changing areas and showers are what can be expected of an average public swimming so if your not a stickler for maximum hygiene you probably will not mind swimming here. I tried to book a badminton court here but unless you are amember you can’t do this. The courts get booked up really quickly anyway as its a popular sport here. My boyfriend has been to the boxing club but since the trainer changed towads the end of last year he hasnt enjoyed it at all and has stopped going. The staff at the centre are alright, not very personable but dont try calling for info, no-one ever answers.
