Sitting quietly at the Northern end of Avenida Tirajana, the Barcelo Las Margaritas hotel is possibly the finest hotel we have ever stayed in. It is a Four Star hotel, with luxurious rooms, a wonderful internal garden and pool, plus the most amazing restaurant we have come across. Our friends the Germans love their food, and the Barcelo provides this in almost embarassing quantity. Breakfast is a huge banquet in its own right, and dinner is an astonishing variety of international dishes that appeal to all tastes. The rooms come with large beds, ample living areas, satellite TV, sizeable balconies and bathrooms that put anything in England to shame. The Barcelo is situated very close to the Yumbo centre, but far enough away to remain quiet at night for those seeking a restful atmosphere. The beach is roughly a fifteen minute amble (you never walk ANYWHERE fast in GC!) and coaches are laid on for those who can’t bring themselves to walk. In October we will be making our sixth visit there… and we can’t wait!
