Food is amazing and tasty. Cant go wrong with their mixed grill. Bring own drinks but definately worth the effort.

food is amazing, bring your own beverages and the staff are very friendly. the restaraunt is quite easy to find and the prices are quite reasonable. they are always busy but at the same time i have never had to wait for long to get a table.

This used to be a favourite but standards seem to have slipped. The service is always friendly and it has a lovely neighbourhood feel.
Lamb chops were disappointing. Only thing I really enjoyed last time I went was the sag paneer.

Get the kulfi

Lahore Karahi offers a good range of Pakistani cuisine and the lamb biryani, in particular is worth a try. Formica tables and the evidence of canned spinach and other boxed masala mixes visible in the kitchen from the side streets are synonymous with the price. This place has all the typical asian cheap restaurant traits, including food that is laden with oil, water jugs and cups on tables, open til late and a TV screen for cricket or bollywood visuals. The real reason to come for is the fairly authentic food that is both delicious and satisfying.

P.s. for a yum lamb biryani that I rate more than the Lahore Karahi version, try this from a chef in Mumbai, Suresh Nair who posted his recipe on Jamie Oliver’s Forums website. My boyfriend made it for me and it is out of this world!

excellent food friendly service and very good value for money...simply the best in town.

Not impressed, food is average and there are plenty of other curry houses in Tooting that are just as good if not better. Appalling service.

I booked a table for 12 people for yesterday night, over the telephone on Thursday. We arrived 9.10pm (our booking was 9.00pm), and were told by the staff to “wait 5 minutes” while our tables were prepared. 10 minutes later, we were still standing around, blocking the kitchen, probably annoying the other patrons who had come to dine (there was very little space for such a big party to stand in). We were told again, our table would be ready in “5 minutes”. We were told this at 9.22pm. At 9.27pm there was no table, and we therefore took the decision to leave. The staff then urged us to come back and said and that a table was ready (upstairs). They repeatedly asked us to stay. We thought, especially as it was Ramadan, we should give our brothers a chance, and re-considered and came back in. We were led upstairs, and much to our disappointment, there still was no table ready. We went all the way back downstairs and left! Again, the staff begged us to stay, but we had enough by that point and left.

We resented the argument put forward by some of the staff that we had arrived late and that’s the reason the table was not ready for us. That is a completely pathetic, insulting and weak argument considering (a) we had booked the night before and (b) we were still made to wait 20 minutes for a table, which was never ready anyway.

We should thank Lahore Karahi however, as after we left your restaurant we decided to give Al-Mirage a chance. We had a lovely meal, with fantastic service, in very nice and clean surroundings. A table was set up for us in 2 minutes and we had a very very enjoyable night. As a party we spent a fair whack of money on a feast. Thank you again, we know NEVER to come back to Lahore Karahi, and always to go to Al-Mirage or some of the other establishments.

The Lahore Karahi, or to give it its full name, The Lahore Karahi Genuine Spicy Taste is magnificent. Formica tables, buzzing atmosphere, cosmic Pakistani grub, bargain prices. My fave in this part of town.

Outstanding Pakistani food both to eat in and take away. Authentic, cooked in front of you, with an extensive menu. It’s always busy, full of local families, and dead cheap. From the outside it looks a bit naff (like one of those awful fried chicken joints) but inside there’s a buzz and a fast turnover of customers.

Tastiest curry in Tooting, if you want authentic flavours. A bit spicey, so for people looking for something mild-don’t go here. If you want something really tasty with a bit of a kick, definately come here. The place is always busy. The inside decor and tables are minimalistic. The mango lassi is really nice. Always a popular place for Indians and families. They also provide a takeaway service which is quick. The curries are also pretty cheap £4-£6.

What can i say about this place. Situated in the heart of Tooting, south west London. It is the finest place to grab a grub.

Hot food prepared on site, with a wide range of dishes catering for all veggies inc. Have a packed seating area downstairs and one upstairs too.

Food is mostly Asian based, all halal with table service. Can also take out. Some of the dishes : kebab roll, curries etc. Fresh naan is always made in-front of you and the aroma is so good, put you in the mood for food anytime.

Prices are very reasonable for London and great staff, who are at hand throughout your stay. Have been voted restaurant of the year and must try ti to believe it.
