This place is a treasure if you aren't an experienced DIY expert.....staff are exceptionally helpful and happy to  talk you through doing a job you haven't done before. They have a very wide stock and are also good at suggesting alternative ways of solving a problem that you may not have thought of.

This shop is FANTASTIC. The staff are really friendly and helpful and they always have what you need - or offer to order it for you. And they don'y make you feel stupid cos you're not a DIY expert. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Thomas Brothers must be one of the last few remaining proper hardware/diy/ironmongers around. They offer fantastic knowledge and advice (which you don`t get in the large places) on all their stock. They work out what you need for the job if you`r not sure and do all that they can to give a good price. Ordering specials and sending of for repairs no problem. Work wear second to none. A great stock of sizes. A great family run shop, with female staff so us girls don`t have to feel we are walking into a MANS WORLD. Cheerful,great sense of humour,and honest, what more do you need. My first choice ever time.

I would say that Thomas Brothers is THE best hardware / tools / ironmongery / dIY and professional store I have ever used. One or another of the assistants always seems to actually know about anything you’ve gone in to buy and they normally seem to have it in stock in several sizes. They are helpful, funny and relaxed and you don’t feel you’ve got to have a booster injection of testosterone just to go in there. If only all such places were like them.
