The Farmers Arms

I think this pub/restaurant is absolutely lovely. Not been for a few years and yes it has changed but for the better. I think the bar maid mentioned it had just received a refurb. Everything from the log fire to my pidgeon bruchetta starter was just fantastic. I would definitely recommend eating here, the food is just unbelievalble, my husband ordered the smoked haddock and I the Pork, definitley worth the reasonable pricing too! We even got chance to thank the chef, Michael, in person! Will definitely come back again when we are in the area. Thank you Laura and Michael for a wonderful evening!

Would not recommend this pub at all. It used to be nice until it changed hands recently. We were in a party of 5, food was over an hour late. 2 meals were brought out, then 5 minutes later half of another meal arrived. 10 minutes later the other 2 meals arrived. Then the remainder of the third meal was brought out. Food was over cooked, veg was limp and the fish was burnt black underneath. We complained and the food was left untouched. We were told we would not be charged, good job because we were not paying anyway!!!!! So if you want decent pub fare with good service give this place a miss.

We were on the way from Newcastle to Sheffield,
we were both hungry and thirsty and went looking for
a good pub in the neighbourhood of the motorway
and then we found the Farmers Arms.
It was like stepping in to the "Heartbeat" tv serie.
Nice pub, friendly staff, large portions of good food
for fair price, the best english pub I have seen so far !
I hope that I will come there again.

Found this pub whilst on my way back from catterick racecourse with a few friends , perfect old english pub over looking the village green great food and drink definately value for money has a great atmosphere , would recommend this pub to anyone going to racecourse or market . Great staff very friendly .
