Gorgeous, chav-free, classy cinema in the heart of Hampstead. It is expensive but worth the money as the atmosphere is so nice. You can even pay extra for a leather sofa!! They show a few mainstream films but also art-house and independents. My most memorable visit was to see Deep Throat (yes, the porn film!) on their big screen. They have a private bar in there too so you can relax and unwind with a glass of wine and a good flick. Wonderful place.

This is a luxurious cinema in the heart of Hampstead Village. If you’re bored of the impersonal mega multiplexes then this is definitely the place for you. The tickets can be a little on the pricey side but that is more than made up by the comfortable seating with acres of leg room. No more back ache for me!
There’s a full bar and a choice of gourmet snacks. They also treat you like adults and you can bring your alcoholic drinks into the auditorium.
My movie going experience has been enhanced by the simple pleasures of watching a film whilst sipping on a large gin and tonic and munching on Belgian chocolates.

As a big fan of independant films I first discovered this film when i went to see ’ The Edukators.’ I wasn’t expecting it to be such a comfortable experience. Every seat is so inviting and if you are going with a loved one you have the oppurtunity to rent a couch. Bring a blanket along and it feels like your at home. If you plan carefully you can make the trip very reasonable. The weekday matinees are about 8pounds per person. There is also a nice bar at the entrance of the cinema where you can have a drink or two before the film. You can even order drinks for the cinema itself.

As someone who watches plenty of films, being comfortable is an important factor for me; not least because I suffer from a bad back. The Everyman is the perfect solution as you can sink into a luxurious, cushion-clad sofa and watch a film while feeling like you’re in your own living room. Drinks, including alcohol, from the bar can be taken into the cinema. Tickets are expensive compared to local cinemas but they’re average for London ones and they do offer some interesting events, like an audience with the film’s director after the showing.

As well as showing a few of the better blockbuster’s out at the current time, the Everyman cinema also endevours to educate with some great lesser known films from other cultures. This was the place where I first saw Y tu mama tambien, and have returned many times for similar great movie experiences. Be prepared to be surprised and intruiged in every way, instead of going to see the film that it is advertised everywhere all over London, go for the underdogs, it might be ten times better!

This is no ordinary cinema - well it has a screen and all the usual features but this cinema boasts table service: from the comfort of your heavily upholstered chair you can press a button and summon a waiter to order a Hoegaarden, a plate of bruschetta, or a box of gourmet chocolate covered chilies. This is a perfect spot for a date or a romantic evening out. Book online (the website is especially good) and select a two-seater sofa. There are even operas transmitted live via satellite from the Met in New York. It’s not especially cheap but it’s worth the extra few pounds.
