This is the old Brighton Polytechnic, with a wide range of vocational courses giving the foundation to the place. Its added a lot more since becoming a university of course and the campus, while it doesn’t rival the University of Sussex across the railway tracks, is still respectable.

There’s been a lot of new building in the last fifteen years, and one of the great results is that a lot of the buildings have cafes and seating areas on the ground floor, often quite dramatically presented, with views right up to the roof six storeys above. They feel very good places to sit and be.

There are also a great many lectures to which the public are invited, from various organisations that the staff belong to, for one thing. They’re advertised, and available.
