One of the best restaurants in the area. Not really an Italian and pizza bar, but rather a fish restaurant which serves those specialities also. Good for every day as well as gourmet food since the restaurant is divided into two sections.

So I have now been to Malta, a small island in the mediterranean sea which has recently joined joined the EU. In Malta there is a strong British influence and luckily that influence has lost out to the Italian one when it comes to food. Grabiel is one of the best restaurants in Malta according to the locals we met and who took us there. And it is even supposed to be the best place for fish. We had an excellent evening there and excellent food in this little trattoria which doesnt look like anything special from the outside but has 2 secret weapons. First a really charming and funny owner, named Carmel Bianco, who clearly enjoys what he is doing, greeting both locals and tourists in the same friendly way and guiding them through the menu during the evening. Second the food, particularly the pasta (with clams, fish and other sea food) and the fresh fish, steamed or grilled. There was a vast choice of fresh fish even if it was a quiet evening at the beginning of the week and we were blown away by the subtil taste of the steamed sea bass, served with tasty vegetables. So when in Malta do not hesitate to stop by and let Carmel take care of your Maltese evening (note only 4 stars as the deco is nothing special but still your evening will be special).
