Hix Restaurant & Champagne Bar

The Hix bar in Selfridges overlooks the ground floor accessory area so is a great olace to rest weary legs from a long days shopping.
the drinks menue is good however the cocktails are a little sweet and sickly sometimes.
service can be slow in the bar but is much faster in the restaurant area.
Its always busy here too so sometimes you will have to wait for a table, probably not the ideal spot for a relaxing lunch as theres quite a lot of hustle and bustle but good for people watching and the food is very nice and a good choice.
Although a little pricey for a quick lunch.

Worked up an appetite and thirst after an epic day of shopping?

HIX Selfridges is a snazzy balcony bar and restaurant set amid one of the world's most famed department stores. Depending upon your persuasion, such an eatery could be heaven or hell.

As for me, well, I'm not really a linger over a meal in a department store kinda guy. If I must shop, I like to get in and out asap. However, the prospect of quality food in a stylish setting hovering aloft with a birds-eye of all the busy lil shopaholics from all over the world does have its appeal ... and the food is very good. In particular, Welsh Rarebit fondue is inspiredly yummy.

My preference would be to go to another of the Hix restos in London (love the one in Clerkenwell) but I wouldn't be against exploring the menu here. In fact, the prospect of a Hix meal might even be decent enough incentive to put me in shopping mode.
