I visited Hollywood Bowl during the Easter Holidays when it was jam packed with hyperactive children. The bright flashing lights running down the side of the lanes, the noisy MTV pop music and the screaming kids made for a full on experience I wouldn’t reccommend undertaking with a hangover. For some reason which was not explained to us our student discount was rejected which made for an expensive half an hour of bowling. We cheekily tried to cheat the system by entering six names on the scoreboard instead of 3 but were called off the lane promptly when our half hour was up. If we’d bowled here all day it would have cost a small fortune. However the facilities were great, there’s a bar, loads of arcades (although I found it slightly worrying watching small children play fruit machines). There’s pool tables and plenty of places to eat near by. Was it a bad day out or am I just getting old and grumpy? Probably the latter!
