f you need any electrical or electronic components, or you are into gadgets, then this is the place to shop. Everything from tiny little resistors through to computer systems and satellite dishes. My young son is very much into gadgets and particularly likes building things. So I went here to get some ideas for a Christmas present and suddenly came across the electronic build it yourself kits that they do. Great idea because there are numerous different types and projects available with a range of prices and difficulty levels to suit everyone. My son loves them and keeps recommending different ones to do to his friends.

Maplin reminds me of Tandy (same sort of retail network that went bust 10 years back). Maplin sell all these bits and bobs that only nerdy people (no offence people but that includes me). But I have to say they do sell a lot of silly bits and bobs. I get their weekly newsletter via email and its has a lot of rubbish in it. Their shops look a little dated, their layout and what they stock too.

And who said Maplin is like Circuit City in the US? The bankrupted US chain sold TV’s, computers, sound systems, light bulbs, to transformers. Maplin doesn’t do everything just the odd bits and bobs.

Maplin is the circuit city of uk. They have plenty of electronics which are cheapest you will find anywhere.

The staff are very helpful and are very technical. They will even read circuit diagrams and get the components for you. It is amazing. The number of electronics there is immense. Lots of good products.

MAPLIN IS A VERY GOOD PLACE,THEY CATER MOST THINGS NEEDED AND IF NOT THEY POINT U IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.. tHEY ARE NOT BADLY PRICED EITHER FOR MOST THINGS.WHEN THEY HAVE GOT WHAT U WANT IN STOCK BUT ON A WHOLE THERE A GOOD PLACE TO CHECK OUT BEFORE ARGOS..

This is one store you can’t compromise the quality of the electronics you get here,the least item in maplin is of high quality,i bought some rechargeable battery and its charger,few years back,they are still looking brand new and waxing strong.
