This place cracks me up. It’s tiny but always rammed to the rafters, especially on match days and weekends. There are two sides / bars - one is full of tables and chairs and is generally the quiet side and the other has a DJ booth and dance floor and can get really rowdy (in a good way). I’ve had some great laughs in this pub and it’s one of my favourites in cardiff. It’s nothing special, the decor is very old and the whole place is a bit clap-trappy, and the girls toilets are teeny tiny and you can queue for AGES, but it’s got loads of character and history attached to it and it’s NOT A KIT PUB (most important). The bar staff are very friendly too.
Saturday nights are the best if you want to boogy along to the disco!!!

History
Built in the 1880’s as the Cattle Market. Renamed to the Dovers Arms, finally becoming the City Arms in 1955 in celebration of the new Cardiff status and alledgedly haunted by a poltergiest!!!!!

This is a fantastic pub for all ages, it serves good for a great beer.

The staff are great and you get a real family sense about the place, with people of all ages, race, classess meeting in one place this is a one of a kind place.

With a “disco” on the weekend I would be surprised if yu ever find this place quiet, well worth a pint or two
