I loved this place nd used to pop in at lunchtime. It is a real shame that it shut down.

Not impressed. Decor was lovely I have to say, and everything looked clean and tidy…but not impressed that I ordered the lamb burger which was still pink in the middle…and why no kid’s menu? I appreciate that they halved the adult portion meal for our child but still charged us full price for it ! wont be eating there again.

I've eaten at the Blue Plate Kitchen twice now and I can't recommend it highly enough! No nonsense, quality food with a warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere. The homemade burgers are the best I've had. So far I've tried the minted lamb burger and the pork and fennel burger. I will certainly be going back to try the rest of the menu. Also, a tip - don't leave without trying the chocolate mousse! This place is a really good find and great value for money. The staff are friendly and caring without being over bearing. They genuinely want you to have a nice time and to leave feeling satisfied. A much better option than nearby pizza express, zizzis or loch fyne. You will not be disappointed!

We love the Blue place, and highly recommend it to everyone! Brilliant service and amazing food with great value for money!

this is the place if you want a great meal, with pleasant company, food is fantastic especially the starters 4 for a tenner inc whitebait, spare ribs garlic bread, pate on currant bread to name but a few. the seafood spaghetti is exceptional , more seafood than spaghetti which is amazing value and the steaks are to dye for,

Highly recommend this place, I would eat here every day if I could, what I love is the tapas, the choice is excellent and the standard too. I ordered 3 of the same dish I liked it that much, he did Scallops with bacon, I have never them with bacon and the way he dressed it ..wow, the whitebait is also a winner, to be honest I used to frequent Loch fyne over the road but this guy @ blue plate seriously knows how to get the taste buds going with fish, much prefer it.

Then there's his mum's meatball recipe, sumptous, the list is endless and I'm planning on ploughing my way through the menu, great place for client lunches or parties or just so sit and have a coffee, i'd much rather sit in Blue Plate and have a real authentic italian coffee at a good price rather than spending £5 on a mediocre coffee at starbucks or costa...

This is quite a new restaurant (opened c March 2010 I think).

We were there on a Friday night and had the tapas plates. They were absolutely excellent - the quail scotch eggs with mustard were yummy, and they gave us a tiny taster of whitebait free after I said I didn't like them - turns out I do like their whitebait!

It was good value too - 4 dishes for £10.

The staff were friendly and service was quick. Definitely recommended!
