The Crown

I went to the crown to see Random Hand on a thursday night and I absolutely loved my night there. £3 entry and £1.50 a pint? That says it all.

best club in town, bar, toilets table and dance floor all in the same placem, with no dodgey corridoors to get lost down, massive dance floor, great music however cheesy at times, great food during a day time and realy really cheap, student bar with monday night “pound and a arf” night, £2 in

This is a really cool place to end up in after a night after the town. The decor is a little out of this world with lots of colour changing lights etc but the drinks is cheap and theres always plenty going on, each nightof the week is themed: friday is 90’s, saturday is 80’s etc… Theres lots of drink offers, i get a bottle of VK and a shot for £2.50. The only downfall of tis place is the girls toliets… they stink!!

A great pub/club if you like alternative music, although they run several different nights (Rock night, Quiz nights etc).
The pub it’s self is spacious with plenty of seating and some pool tables.
There is also a large dancefloor.
The drinks are cheap and there are usually offers, such as 2 bottles for £3, as it is aimed at students and they also do a 'loyalty card’ scheme whereby you can obtain certian discounts.
The place/tilets can get messy and dirty towards the end of the night though!

a good bar for the gay sceen. Sells cheap alcohol but is full of students. Inside is dirty however large screen shows live sports. A discount card can be used here in the centre of town and hard to miss.

The Crown is really easy to find, being a bright yellow corner building with Crown down the side on big black circles. Open 7 days a week, it used to be an old cinema and so the interior is huge with their being quite a big dancing area, a long bar with lots of staff on (so it doesn’t take long to get served), a seating area overlooking the dance floor, a 'games’ area (pool tables, itbox and side seating) and a group of tables wiht bar stools near the bar.
The best night for the Crown has to be student night on a Monday. It costs £3 for entry with it being about £1.50 for pints and £1.25 for a spirit and soft drink mix. Shots are a pound. The music played is a mix of most modern or in the charts stuff and you can request songs if you climb the stairs to talk to the dj.
The bouncers are quite friendly though the bar staff can be a bit grumpy at times (undertandable really with the nature of the job).
Other nights the crown has is gay night and rock night that I know of. The only complaint I could have is it gets really crowded and it can be hard to grab a chance on the pool table. Generally though the music is good, prices are good and it’s well worth a night out there!

really good night. i have always enjoyed it when i have been there i often go on a monday which is very popular among students has a really nice atmosphere laid back and people are really nice.

I remember that this place was a good night out. I loved gay night as it seemed to be a hunting ground for straight women. Its very popular amongst students and they often have various nights on to cater for all people. Good few fights happened though but nothing the security didnt sort out quickly.

The Crown in Middlesbrough is very hard to miss; it is a MASSIVE pub on a corner on Linthrope road. As far as I know it was once a cinema and you can certainly tell this from the high ceiling inside. The crown has a late licence and as open 7 days a week. Being in the heart of Middlesbrough they try to cater for all types, each week they have rock night, cheesy music night and even a gay night. This s a very eclectic pub that always seems to be busy. The pub holds a lot of people and it contains a dance floor that is much bigger than some clubs have. During the day you can come to the crown for some lunch, they offer a pretty basic menu but it is idea for hangovers. The Crown is a ‘scream’ pub so it is very popular amongst student, especially when they do quid’s in nights. I have been to the crown so many times that I have lost count, the music is good and the environment and atmosphere is even better, when they get a live band it can be a great night out
