We did not have a reservation and were made welcome as soon as we came through the door. A table for two was found for us and it was nice to see spotless white table linen and napkins (much nicer than the usual paper napkins). Our order for drinks & food was taken delivered to the table very quickly. The staff were cheerful and showed genuine interest in their customers. Our Sunday lunch was provided at a reasonable price. A bonus was that, being winter, parking in the nearby large carpark was free of charge……….we shall return!
We went as a group of 5 and took a 13 month old baby on the 11/1/12.
It was my first visit and it was Brilliant. The food was excellent and a great price, then menu was well thought out with variety and aa specials board.
However the most impressive thing was the staff ! Brilliant because they made us feel so welcome almost like friends, genuine, good humoured and relaxed without being overbearing and subservient.
I thoroughly recommend The Beach Tavern for a meal and if you have a baby. They have genuinely thought about the customer i suggest you give it a try
Great music, great beer (at low prices), great atmosphere. I’d recommend this pub to anyone.
My wife and I had a curry on monday well presented ,enjoyable ,sweet, was
out of this world ,recommend a visit ,you will not be disapointed
Well done.
Thanks to Sonia & Stephan.
Even though we live 3 miles away, we now regard this excellent pub as our local. Absolutely everything is great about it and the food in the adjacent Sonias restaurant is excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Varied programme of entertainment, so there is always something going on. The landlord Stephan goes out of his way to make visitors feel welcome and makes a very refreshing change from the sterile manger type pubs that are everywhere now. Well done to Stephan and his wife for creating such a special atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Visited the pub on 7th October as recommendation of a relative who lives nearby. Very friendly staff on arrival, shown to table almost immediately. Food was served very quickly and excellently cooked and well presented on the plate. Desserts are to die for. Price very reasonable. Would most defintely visit again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Had a great evening last night – Elton John Tribute. Really good entertainment, nice atmosphere, great staff and landlord really makes everyone feel welcome. Will be back for the Howlin Blues Band tonight and for Sunday lunch in the next few weeks. Thanks.
We called in for lunch and was made to feel very welcome, even though we had a young puppy with us, we were accommodated and well looked after, excellent meal, good value and warm, friendly staff. We would certainly be going again when next in Pevensey – Andy, Jan and Charlie Chocolate lab from Croydon.

Popped in for a quick lunch and finished up having the daily special, which was excellent. Quite outstanding value for money. Clearly evident that the owners are working very hard at this business.
We were staying in Pevensey Bay for 2 weeks (late-June-early July) and had the pleasure of visiting the Beach Tavern nearly on a daily basis. The venue has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the people behind the bar were very nice and service minded.
The most memorable event for us was without any doubt the two karaoke evenings we frequented. Many great singers (the landlady included!) and lots of fun.
We really hope to get back as soon as possible.
This pub is definately the one to visit in Pevensey. We stopped in last weekend last minute decision and enjoyed such lovely food, with a great kids menu at a very reasonable price. The staff made my family very welcome and we will visit again on the request of my daughter Jessica who said they were the best chicken nuggets she had ever tasted :-). Mr & Mrs Rivers.
We're always on the look-out for new places to eat, and we're so glad that we decided to try the Beach Tavern.
As soon as we came through the door,we were made to feel really welcome. The atmosphere was very friendly, and Stephan was very attentive to everyone in the Restaurant.
The Restaurant itself was very attractive and clean. It's not often you get nice tablecloths, and napkins to match !!
The food was superb, and nicely presented.
We shall definitely be making another visit very soon.
Cheers ~ Brian and Ann
We went to see our parents staying at a nearby campsite and drove into Pevensey Bay to find somewhere for lunch. The Beach Tavern looked busy and inviting so we decided to go in. The five of us including my 2 year old son were quickly given a great table with plenty of room for the high chair for my son. We ordered drinks and no sooner than they arrived, the Landlord came over with a toy for my son to keep him occupied which I thought was a really nice touch. We ordered the food with a really friendly young waitress, Five roast dinners with all options available to us (Usually a busy pub has run out of some). The food arrived and looked fantastic including the mini version for my son. All fresh produce and no frozen spuds! It really was home cooked quality. They even gave my son a childrens set of cutlery which we have never experienced when eating out, we always take our own.
The food was fantastic, the dessert's equaly as good, even the presentation of the food was brilliant and unexpected for a pub restaurant.
The entertainment was great with a really superb Lady singing in the background.
When we left, the Landlord went out of his way to say goodbye to my son, by then calling him by his name. Even the locals said farewell and commented on what a quiet child my son was.
This really was the best Pub lunch experience I have ever had, and I will be revisiting in August when we are down in the area next.
Great Pub, Great Food, Great people. Wish all pubs were like this one. See you soon.
thebeachtavern Thank You. for your kind words, you and your family are more than welcome, your son was delightful and so well behaved he is a credit to you. We lookforward to welcoming you agian in August. I would recommend booking and making a reservation for our restaurant, especially as its during the school holidays which is our busy period. We often eat and drink at the Beach Tavern and have had a great time, We have recommended this Pub and restaurant to many people. The recent Neil Diamond and Meatloaf tribute shows was excellent.
Thank you Stephan and Sonia. we are looking forward to future nights out at the Beach Tavern

A great pub, good food at a sensible price, excellently run by Landlord and wife. Keep on at him to have Harveys bitter but they recently took on London Pride and often has Adnams so a good second choice. I dislike that awful DoomBar. Beer temperature and presentation very good.
Strongly recommended for a good evening.
Graham
Great friendly pub with fine food and a good selection of wines and beers
(a well kept doombar in particular) prices are very reasonable as well.
thebeachtavern Thank you for your comments, I must say the Doombar is a very popular tipple, we now have Fullers London Pride on as a 2nd perminant beer.
cheers Stephan
