I’ve just come online to review Naked and was shocked to find a review the complete opposite to my experience. The staff serving me were really helpful and friendly, they went out the way to give me directions and help me with my belongings…. not to mention the cake. I hope this wasn’t a one off experience for me however I shall definitely be returning.

It's worth noting that although the interior is lovely with a little low-seated Moroccan style lounge area and some funky seating about the place, it does get very crowded at busy times such as Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. On a sunny day, you can sometimes catch a seat on the roof terrace, which is tiny but sun-soaked. Definitely worth a visit!

We just had to visit Naked on our trip to Brighton. It was great to go somewhere different from the Costa’s and Nero’s. We dared to chill in the upstairs lounge area where we felt old but `what the hell’, we enjoyed taking our shoes off, drinking Tea and Coffee along with a tasty cake. Service was fine and we guess we got there at a quieter time having read some of the other reviews. we would definatly re-visit when in Brighton again.

Cool place, but prepare to queue for a bit before being served. There were 4 staff in the shop today doing dishes or milling about, but only 1 of them bothered to serve the 5 people standing in line. Not impressed, we went down the road to a chain instead. Poor service really ruins an experience.
This has happened a few times before, so not just a one-off.

They also seem to have an issue with clearing up too!!! I went in there today and it looked like a complete pig sty, every single table had rubbish left on it, looked like it had been piling up there for sometime while 3 members of staff were downstairs doing nothing, this isn’t the first time that this has happened either, really think they need sort it out. I don’t want to pay a premium for a cup of tea and be sat in an absolute shithole! The cakes aren’t very impressive either.

Eek. Sorry to hear. I’ve stopped going there to be honest. You should try Marwood Coffee (I think that’s the name) on the side of the old Post Office in Ship Street. It seems pretty cool and there’s a cafe just next to it (can’t remember its name) which also seemed good. I think Naked is building a bad reputation, unfortunately, as I do like the space.
Break away from the main coffee chains and find this little gem tucked in the South Lanes!
Speciality teas galore are beautifully presented, to be enjoyed in a variety of seating areas. These include an outdoor terrace and, my favourite, the mood-lit, cushioned floor area with tiny oriental-style tables!
However, the thing that really makes 'naked' unique, is that it stays open late! ..Till 10pm on Friday and Saturday, offering a tranquil haven from the alcohol fuelled masses.
Maybe I'm getting old, but if this isn't the way forward for 'boozy Britain' I don't know what is!

Hey!
I work for the commercial furniture supplier that did this venue!!
visit www.insideoutcontracts.com
and you can re-create the look of Naked Tea and Coffee, I think we supplied the tables and chairs...
:D
You wouldn't know it from street level but Naked has a huge upstairs seating area with windows overlooking the narrow lanes.
This was what actually attracted me. Or to be more precise it was the "Designer" seating area that attracted me. What would it be like? Surely it would be more than just upright chairs with formica laminate tables. Alas not. It was spacios and I am sure they purchased the best ceiling lights that IKEA had on offer when they kitted this place out.
It was howver exceptionally deigner in its selection of teas. All loose - not a teabagging in sight.
No hippy-dippy herbal stuff, all the real mccoy. All very well served.

Their other site is up my way in Tunbridge Wells. Rather good hot chocolate is their USP: Hot, frothy milk, choc on a stick etc etc.................
Oh yes, 'not a teabagging in sight' you said. I think we can all be grateful for that one, Harters!!!

I've uploaded a picture of the wallpaper just to demonstrate how "designer" it actually is....
