Definitely one of the best live music venues in Scotland and very possibly the only one with a sprung dance floor. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a bad gig here and it’s just a shame that so many bands are choosing to play venues such as the ABC and the dreadful Carling Academy these days as there is nowhere else that you’ll find the same atmosphere as The Barras.

This is a great place to go and see a live band - sometimes it dosn’t even matter who you are going to see because the atmosphere is that good you will have a good time no matter what!

The best live music venue in the world! The place is very dilapidated and a bit grubby but this adds to it’s charm. There is always an amazing atmosphere at the barrowlands regardless of who is playing. A favourite amongst many musicians and with good reason. The toilets are not for the faint hearted and could really do with a bit of a makeover…or even just a good clean! Be prepared to push in at the bar if you want any chance of getting served…manners will get you nowhere here!

The best place to hear live music in Scotland, without a doubt…admittedly the place place could do with some sprucing up…and it takes for ever to get served at the bar…but the acoustics are great, the staff are always helpful and friendly (until they’re chucking everone out..but I don’t think I’d have the patience either) I’ve never had a bad experience and can’t wait until my next visit
