This is a real hidden gem. I trusted Gemma with my hair for years (and if it wasn’t completely impractical to travel up from London I still would). She always gave me a great cut and colour for a ridiculously good price. I’ve yet to find anyone I trust as much down here - and I’ve been to much pricier, trendier salons in search of someone!

So many hairdressers make you feel guilty about the way you treat your hair, or push you to go for things THEY want to do instead of listening to your wishes. Here I never felt pressured to go for something I didn’t like. That said, Gemma would always make suggestions and talk to me about how things would work with my hair so I wouldn’t go for the wrong thing. All of her suggestions proved correct, and I never left the salon feeling let down. Definitely give it a go if you’re in the area!
