I don’t know if this is the same staff member, but the one I just dealt with on the phone was AWFUL. So tacky, rude and not too bright. Refused to listen to my actual question and essentially hung up on me. The place already looks trashy from the outside and their website is a joke. (Try getting the telephone number in one go… it’s worth a laugh.) The only reason I was interested was because it’s a convenient location for me, but I can see it would be worth it to go somewhere that isn’t so dumpy. What a mess.

Offensive content?
Just went to City Tanning & Beauty for a "Hollywood Wax"....which was nothing more than an extreme bikini wax. She did not go far down at all, only did the whole 'front' and no lower than that so between my legs it is still hairy and not to mention round the back which EVERY other waxer I have ever been to does. I am pretty sure it is part of the definition of a Hollywood.
Not only that but just once did she ask me for help to pull the skin taut, usually they have me pulling here there and everywhere to get it tight enough for the wax to come off without much pain and redness. Now it is really red and sore - I have never had a more painful Hollywood.
I didn't say anything as to be honest when you are laying there spread eagle with nothing on your lower half (not even a towel!!!) it's a bit awkward to ask "so are you going to do my bottom then, or infact between my legs at all?"
Complete waste of £26!!!!
I am only giving it the 1 star because I have used it's tanning facilities before and they just about do the job (nothing special)

Offensive content?
I went there today for tanning for the first time and I was horrified.
First a readhead from the personal was very rude like I was wasting her time, when she obviously wanted to get her pedicure done, she almost started swearing when the phone rang too - another interruption.
Then when I was leaving the solarium cabin, started wondering if they clean it properly and I saw this thick dust on the bottom of the lamps combined with dirt from the floor!
Unbelievable! How are they still in business? Who goes there?

I came to City Tanning and Beauty for the first time last week and I will definitely be going back.
The salon is lovely and clean - bright and airy. I went for a massage and although the room was rather small it was very well presented. The music was soothing and relaxing and the beauty therapist knew exactly what she was doing. The service was fantastic and I look forward to my next appointment.
