If you are into Indie music check it out, one of the best indie bars in the Nottingham area

This place is a bit 'hit and miss' in my opinion. If you're into rock and indie then you should feel at home in this place but sometimes the stench of sweat, sticky floors cheap beer and dirty rock types can be a bit too much. Give it a go and see for yourself.

Decent enough dive/indie club which attracts the appropriate clientele for the place... there are often good student deals to be had here. The floors are a bit sticky and it can get pretty hot and busy but hey, that's why you came here right?

Cheap, a great place for rock/punk/ska/funk lovers, 2 very different but equally good floors (musicwise), a studenty crowd always with lots of energy.

This is a club that you either like or hate! It is quite expensive to get in although drinks are reasonably priced compared to many of Nottingham’s clubs.
I found it quite small and pokey as really downstairs is just one big room. There weren’t many places to sit down and the dancefloor gets packed.
It feels very much like a student union on a Saturday night. They play a good variety of music, mostly Indie, and there is a good and friendly atmosphere

This isn’t a bad club, it’s very studenty and caters to an indie/rocker crowd mainly. It could be likened to Rock City on a smaller scale, drinks are quite cheap here and it has a slightly more intimate atmosphere than Rock City as the rooms are a lot smaller.

It’s a very unpretentious place, people are friendly which sometimes you dont get in Rock City. This does mean it isn’t the most glamourous place, but then people don’t really go to rock clubs for the glamour anyway so thats fine!

Night’s can be hit or miss here, I’d recommend it for students going as a group and having a few drinks, do that and you’re on to a winner!

You will either love it or hate it and I think you will probably be able to decide in about ten minutes which way you are gonna go.

As I spent plenty of my time in Rock City during the Indie years of the mid 90’s I like to think that this place manages to keep a bit of that alive and offer me a chance to relive some of the good tunes from those wonderful days. Music here can be a bit hit and miss though and I think could be improved, but still it provides plenty of things to get your groove on to.

Drinks are pretty good for price, I do recall buying a couple of aftershocks the other week and if I recall rightly (was getting pretty late and drunk by then!) they were about £2 each. Pints are also fine for prices and so you can get plenty of drinks in here on a night with £20 in your pocket, and still have a bit left for your food on the way home :-)

Upstairs is a bit more upmarket than downstairs, although I use upmarket as a relative term. It has nicer seating area and is a little more quiet and relaxed - more conducive to conversation, so perhaps a good place to head one you have snagged the man or woman of your dreams with your great dance moves downstairs!

I love the cookie club its a great place for an unpretenious down and dancing night out.

Im a bit of a 90s indie rock girl anyway so the opportunity to go out in my jeans and pin around on a tick dance floor is too much to resist.

If your a glamour girl or like to pose its not the place for you, if you like 90’s music or banging around to the smiths and the cure then you will love it.

I went to an Indie night at the Cookie Club and really enjoyed it, the club was really busy but there are a few rooms to move between so could escape the crowds.

Its a lively club and is popular with students. I think it is best enjoyed drunk!

This really could be quite a good club, but the music on the Saturday indie night is pretty poor. They have a request system apparrently, but we couldn’t get the DJ to play anything we wanted, so I ended up knowing about 5 songs (literally) in 5 hours of clubbing. It’s a bit more of a dive than rock city, but the drinks aren’t that expensive, and the big sofas upstairs upstairs are well worth checking out…
