The Landungsbrücken are a MUST SEE for all Hamburg visitors!
All harbour boat trips and boat trips through the historical Speicherstadt start here. I recommend a trip with a small “Barkasse” – I just think they are much more authentic than the big modern ships.
Taking the harbour ferry boats as an alternative to harbour boat trips is cheaper – yet also you hardly see anything of the harbour and noone to tell you stories and information about the harbour.
I just like to sit on a bench at the Landungsbrücken with a “Fischbrötchen” and watch seagulls, people and boats – it’s times like these that I appreciate living in Hamburg very much and know why I chose to live here.
If you like harbours, ships, etc there’s no better place to be in Hamburg. Take the S or U-bahn here and wander along the river or take a ferry or two.

As Kettcar said in the song "Landungsbücken raus: ".......an den Landungsbrücken raus, dieses Bild verdient Applaus!......" Enjoyed many of the lovely views over the port having a nice conversation with a beer and a sandwich in your hand (R.I.P..........)

Hamburg pure, Hamburg - in the middle of it. There are not many places where I like to be. Hamburg, on my way to work also viewed by tourists on their way hopefully to the right ferry. Wouldn't be the first time that the tourists instead going to the Loewenkoenig take the route 62. Yes, the Landungsbruecken can be cruel...But here they have coffee for 0.80 Euro, here one can look at mixed groups of people - and always be helpful, if someone does not see the till because of so much harbour. Hamburg, my pearl - here she shines the most.

The Landungsbrücken are, for me, THE place in Hamburg. To go for a stroll, look at the ships and dream from far away - that's Hamburg pure. They are easy to reach and if I have no time to get out, I still afford myself the luxury to at least pass by via the underground. A must for any Hamburg visit - and the Hamburgers love their harbour anyway which manifests itself by the high visitor numbers during the harbour's anniversary, fish market etc.

The best (and often underestimated) place in this town to chill and relax would be the Landungsbrücken in St. Pauli. Of course on the bank of the most beautiful river of our world, and always with the chance to experience exciting things, which happen a lot in the harbour of Hamburg.
And, last but not least, a wonderful place to work.

The first thing my family always says when they visit Hamburg is "Can we please go to the Landungsbrücken again?" They are so fascinated by it, it's unbelievable. The variety of ships alone, the souvenir shops, the different types of harbour tours or the harbour anniversary. Or simply go for a walk there. One might only appreicate it though if you've been away from Hamburg for a while.

I really like Hamburg. One of the reasons why is because of the great container port and gargantuan ships you can watch making their way to Shanghai from these very banks. You can take the ferry from Landungsbrucken all the way down to the beach and have a hot Gluhwein in the freezing cold. This is also the place to get off the train if you’re visiting the Elbe Tunnel too. It’s a particularly nice U-bahn station as the train makes it way out of the underground and into brilliant sunshine (well, or more likely rain!) and continues on the elevated section into town.
Anyway - if you’re visiting Hamburg for the first time - this is a must-see. If you live here… you’ll keep on coming back.

Expect a lot of tourists at the Landungsbrücken. I enjoy harbors and ships, but wouldn’t really recommend to go there on the weekends because it gets really crowded then. But if you like watchings ships, want to do a harbor boat trip or just prefer to get some fish & chips while being yelled at by some old captain, you’ll have plenty of opportunities there.
