Went to the Prince Blucher last Friday evening hoping to have a quiet drink and unwind after a busy week. Experience totally ruined by a group of noisy, disruptive children running around the restaurant area screaming, fighting, out of control. Dad had abandoned them and was in the bar, drinking with his mates. The bar staff seemed completely helpless/uninterested in doing anything about it. This pub is aiming at the lucrative gastro-pub market and asking its customers to pay prices to match. The management should realise that adult diners and drinkers who want a quality experience will simply vote with their feet and go across the road to the Sussex Arms.

I like this place. It's good for watching football, with or without children, has a decent selection of food, lovely beer garden (now with added playground area), nice staff, and the standard Fullers selection of beer. And last time I visited was on a Saturday after a rather excessive evening of drinking on the Friday, but my Guinness still went down very well, which has to be good sign.

Phil Chambers, 27 May 2010:
This pub has had a good quality refitt and you can tell that they have spent quite a lot of money bringing the pub firmly into the 21st century, whilst retaining it charm - like keeping the real fires.
The food here is good - and the portions are generous with the quality a couple of notches above what you would expect.

I have always enjoyed this boozer, thanks mainly to its excellent outdoor smoking area or beer garden as others call it.
Anyway, I just gave up smoking and had to brave the indoors bit where the beer comes from. Stumbling around I accidentally fell into Thursdays weekly pub quiz which was hilariously brilliant in a very naffly hilarious post - modern and secretly very enjoyable sort of way.
Mind you, not smoking seemed to double my alcohol intake for the evening so maybe my memories are far fruitier than they deserve.
Any way - great pub, great staff and for those interested we came third.

With the sudden increase of gastro pub as opposed to the typical “old mans” pub the food at the blucher has chaged dramatically. Attention is now put into table service and pleasing all customers instead of keeping to bar service. Reasonable prices in a resonable pub.

Has the typical feel of an old-school boozer here, filled with dedicated locals as their pub of choice. It’s quite family focused too with a decent beer garden.
Advantages are that it has a large screen for sports, and the place is never full to the point where it feels like your in a rugby scrum.

The Prince Blucher is a typical Fullers Brewery local with consistent service, atmosphere and reasonable food. Although after a recent menu overhaul the food is beginning to lean towards gastro-pub wannabe rather than the typical pub grub, which it was very good at.
Big outdoor seating area with picnic tables and gas heaters overlooking Twickenham Green that is great for a long summer lunch/evening.
