Hey Jimbo82, I gave it five stars for value for money and the nights I've had in there. But I recognise it won't get that high a rating from everyone...

Slightly over the top review from JB. Yes it is a decent friendly oasis in a barren area but not 5 stars worth!

JaneB, 3 June 2010:
So I may be biased, because this is my local, and frankly round where I live we're hardly spoilt for choice! But, I sincerely believe this is one of the best pubs in SE London. The staff are friendly, and so are the customers. On certain nights pints of lager are only £1.50, a price I've yet to match in any other London boozer! There's also bottles of wine and pitchers of cocktails for £8ish, so definitely not to be sniffed at for savings! Live music on Thursdays and weekends, a pub quiz on Mondays (for which I have 100% victory track record. And if I can do it, so can you...), and a cosy beer garden with fairylights, heaters and cats. Heaven.

One of the best pubs in SE London. Great music and people. They now also sell a bad ass pizza menu.
Bosh!

Was even better back in the day!
This is a really nice pub that is very Rock, most the people who go in there are also very “rock” dressed, and you do get a great variety of people.
they have live acts quite a bit, but do charge an entrance fee sometimes when they do.
the drinks are reasonably priced and there is ample seating.
this pub used to be a right old fashioned pub and have wood shavings on the floor and all but not its a bit more modem, but only a bit.
still most the seating is what you expect to see in a church.
But this is a really good night out if u like loud good music,

An oasis for all things musical located at the end of Lewisham High Street this pub is a great venue to catch some of the borough’s highly talented musical acts.
The Fox and Firkin is a lively venue which is also home to one of the areas largest beer gardens.
The pub largely plays host to a rock/indie crowd and is a lynchpin of support for many of South East London’s burgeoning music scene.
Watch out for yearly (sometimes bi-annual) Foxfest, an all day music festival featuring over 30 bands across two days.

Awesome venue for alternative live music, best in the south east. Fantastic live music thursdays and saturdays. Decent beer garden as mentioned and generally a really friendly crowd of nice people.

The Fox and Firkin is a rock orientated pub that hosts an impressive roster of up and coming bands and DJ’s. I seem to remember it being a pretty a cheap bar and there’s a decent beer garden for summer evenings.
