The people behind the Great House also own Maison Blue and Mariners all three are simply fantastic for Suffolk. You have to try hard to beat this in France outside of Paris!
I had a most enjoyable dinner there with my family to celebrate my son’s 14th birthday. Great food, a good wine list and great service. Why is this so hard to find elsewhere?
I take my hat off to the people who own and run this place. Well done you deserve a meadal.

We went here for our evening meal my American friends and I we had to book but it was just lovely, food was delicious, Thierry the floor manager was so sweet and the staff were quick and efficient even though most were French.

Note perfect classic French (ish) food, served by superbly professional French staff, in a very charming medieval building. Expect to dine surrounded by well-heeled Suffolk retirees and people "just up" from London; it's not a young crowd. Think "captains of industry". I understand this place has been in business over 20 years; the owners are in fact French. Probably the best cheese selection in the East of England.
