Review of Ashton Court Estate from 14 June 2012
This large estate on the southern edge of the city, across the famous Suspension Bridge, is often called the city's lungs. Lots of open space for dog and children walking, bike tracks, 2 deer parks, a golf course, woodland walks, and the mansion with rose garden, cafe, restaurant and is bookable for events.  Site of the famous annual balloon fiesta and lots of lesser events like the kite festival.

A huge public open space situated on the the border of north somerset and Bristol.

Great in the summer for walks, picnics, games, parties plus it’s the venue each year for the Bristol international balloon fiesta.

Plus it has a large herd of deer resident in the grounds.

Ashton court park can be found only 10 minutes walk out of Bristol. There are fantastic views and sunsets at this park. Across the acres of land there is also a herd of red eer ambling around. The grounds are full of woodland and medows, great surrounding for a picnic.

Lovely big estate with lots to see and do. There a mountain bike trail, golf course, Manor house with cafe and restaurant, impressive trees/woodland, a deer park and lots of green spaces.
I regularly go for walks around the estate with my family and my boys (3 and 1) love it. I’ve also been mountain biking around the designated trail a few times which is good fun, but gets very bogged down in wet weather. And the trail ends in a car park where you can get a bacon butty when you’ve finished pedalling… ideal.

There is so much space here. Hidden away in one corner is a golf course, which should give you an idea of the size.
The gardens immediately surrounding the house aren’t anything special like you might get at the national trust. For a good walk, and to kick a ball around with your small children, for free, you can’t go wrong.

The Estate is a great place to visit. There are plenty of trails to follow through the parkland and woods which are lovely for walking the dog. The wooded areas are transformed in the Autumn with fantastic colours, really magical. You can also go cycling or horseriding or take advantage of the wide open spaces for games of Frisbee or rounders. There is also a public golf course.

You can also enjoy the formal gardens which include a rose garden and formal lawns that are in front of Ashton Court itself.

The Balloon Fiesta in August is also well worth a look.

What a shame about the music festival??!! Had been attending for years but got way too commercialised so not surprised. Still the balloon fiesta is always good and took the children this year to watch the night glow which was cool in an eery way!! Couldn’t hear the music unfortunately, up with the gods by the burger van. Lovely for picnics, bike rides, sunbathing, golf, anything you can think of to do in a nice green open space.

I’ve been here with my mountain bike, my dog, my dancing shoes and a golf club. Good for all of the above. The house can be hired out for functions, including weddings. My brother was married here and it is very upmarket. A nice venue and the food was lovely.

Walking through the grounds it’s lovely to see the dear running, especially this time of year as the kids thinks their reindeer.

Ashton Court Estate is a massive country park just outside Bristol.

Its good for walking, cycling or just relaxing with a picnic. There are woods and grassy fields and there is also a deer farm on the estate.

Up until this year Ashton Court Estate has also been home to the Ashton Court festival. It was not this year due to lack of funding which was a real shame as this festival used to be really good for Bristol. Lots of big acts have performed her as well as many bands from the Bristol area.

The Ashton Court Estate provides a great excursion for anyone but most particularly familes with children, who are free to run about at will and have plenty of space to play. The estate itself is vast and comprises the distinctive yellow mansion with its surrounding formal garden and then beyond that the vast park and golf course. It is a great if you enjoy brisk walks in the great outdoors.

Ashton Court Estate and mansion – another great family day out just outside of Bristol Centre in the middle of the countryside. Entry is free and so is parking so why not prepare a picnic and go for the day? Lots of wildlife to see but also cycling, miniature railway and golf among other activities to be enjoyed. The mansion itself holds many events such as parties and balls and is a truly magnificent house. There is also a quaint little café there.

Lovely place for dog walks. The pitch and putt is good fun with some amazing views. Great for picnics in summer. Lovely forest walks. Little cafe too for an ice lolly or a drink.

It’s a real surprise finding extensive grounds and open spaces this close to a big city. Ashton Court Estate is a great place to take some exercise. You will regularly see runners, cyclists, dog walkers and kite flyers here all burning up some calories after Sunday Lunch! From the top of the Estate the views are fantastic and there are a couple of deer parks where you can regularly watch the deer passing the time! There is a model steam railway too, and on certain dates of the year these enthusiasts open it to the public and these events are always popular, especially with children who queue up to ride the model trains. There’s also a public golf course where you simply turn up with your clubs, pay a small fee and you’re ready to play! A highly recommended place, especially for families.

A huge expanse of woodland, grassy areas and pathways. Ashton Court is a wonderful place to go for a walk, take the kids for some fresh air, sit and have a picnic or take the mountain bike for a bit of off roading. The park has a large mansion, where there is a cafe and there is a golf course. It’s handily located just over the bridge from Clifton Village and can also be entered from the lower entrance on Kennel Lodge Road. This is where the balloon festival takes off from each year and it’s not an uncommon sight to see ballooning on fine days.
