Ris Café

Writing reviews is not really our thing but this restaurant has subset us so much that we feel the whole world needs to know.   The RIS café has absolutely no regards for quality of food what so ever. We found this place as it is situated just by the Vatican and from the out side looks a decent place. But that is all that it has in its favour. We don’t know what is going on in the kitchen but I am sure they have just a microwave and freezer. We ordered a pasta dish which the middle was still half frozen, a pizza which certainly was not cooked in any kind of oven as it was soggy. When we tried to complain no one would come to see us. The waitress just gave us the bill and never came back to our table. We have never encountered such arrogant and insulting service and disgusting food.   For you all out there avoid this place like the plague.

Having read in guide books before we travelled to Rome “Avoid street waiters trying to get you into their restaurants” we still through tiredness more than anything else were sucked in at the RIS CAFÉ. It was a good spot and hoped that since it looked busy the food would be fresh. What a disappointment. It was a total disgrace on pizza and pasta. There should be food police for this kind of rubbish that was served. RIS CAFÉ only wants your money with not a care of the quality of the food. What a pity that a restaurant just by the Vatican has no shame to serve such disgusting food.

Just came back from Rome. Having been to the Vatican all Morning and half the afternoon we really wanted to have something to eat and drink.
We eventually feel for the charms of a Danish girl at the Ris cafe. She was outside scouting for customers. No service or cover charge she stated. All the food is very good and home made.
Well that certainly was the case if your 5 year old was cooking. The pizza we ordered was socked with some kind of tomato paste and undercooked. The pasta was just not edible and a salad which was supposed to be a main meal was just a few lettuce leaves and a couple of slices of cheese.
AT 9.50 EUROS a dish it was one of the worst meals we ever had.
When the table next to us heard our complaints they too agreed that the food was just s##t.

There are a many good restaurants in Rome just do your home work before you go and don’t get sucked in with waiters out side the restaurant offering you all kinds of goodies as in more cases than not you will regret it.

Good restaurants do not need these kind of tactics.

In any event, if you wish to experience the worst meal in Rome try the RIS CAFÉ. You will not be disappointed.

Nice location, good drinks, good service. The prices are moderate, but not cheap. Went four times to the Ris Cafè but only for drinks which were good.
