This is an excellent restaurant at the very eastern end of the main harbourfront street in Bodrum. Go past all the crappy “Irish” pubs, or ask where the Halikarnas nightclub is, it’s just before that. Berk Bal?k is a little restaurant at the end.

It’s filled with locals, always a good sign, even when the restaurant next door is empty. It’s got some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Very friendly service: they had a good-natured laugh with us about our attempts at Turkish, but it endeared them enough that we got greeted with an all-staff cheer and special service the next night.

The food is mostly reasonably priced but certainly all delicious. Largely seafood - go pick your fish from the display - but a few other options as well. The calamari and cuttlefish were both great. We ate there both nights we were in Bodrum.

There are some seats indoors upstairs, but it’s best to sit outside where an enclosed area holds a dozen or so tables. You see the Bodrum nightlife strolling by, but it’s not as busy or chaotic as it is closer to the centre of town.
