Cute place, the amigo hours are really cheap! However, the food was rather disappointing and the wine selection is for those who don’t appreciate wine.

great selection of cocktails, some traditional cocktails with a twist some modern, all done well and at a good price. the best thing is they do everything by eye

Great ambiance, very crowded.

Points for affordable happy hour cocktails, hot barstaff who can make a mojito in, I’d say, around 1.2 seconds and for its central location.
But… I don’t know. The bar food could be better, the vibe seems a little off for after work drinks -like one of those places where they try to make you feel like it’s perpetually 1am and you should be partying.
Go here if that’s what you’re after, of course.

A funny place for a night out last Friday. The music in the downstairs area was far too loud for talking but as the night progressed that was probably a good thing. The DJ was on form, lots of old jungle and hip hop and an excellent mash up of 99 problems with 99 red baloons

Lots of funky colours and a great atmosphere in this Latin place in Soho. Cocktails are great & you don't have to wait ages for them to be served. I would deffo recommend the watermelon caipirinha and the passion fruit cocktail. Loved it! But there's also plenty of other stuff to get your hands on, including food. Happy hour between 5pm-8pm makes you wish you'd eaten before coming!

Soho's new(ish) “Latin cantina and cocktail lounge” is waaay better than I had assumed it would be. Sister bar to Barrio North on Essex Road, Barrio Central serves massive portions of rather yummy dishes as well as top notch cocktails. I was actually quite impressed with a few dishes as well as the cocktails I've sampled.
The veggie Barrio Nachos (freshly fried with home made Pico de Gallo, salsa verde, sour cream, guacamole and Monterey jack cheese) more than works as a starter. And I really like the calamari with aioli especially the slightly spicy aioli. In particular, the incredibly filling and right tasty, Barrio Sandwich (slow roasted pulled pork on ciabatta with Monterrey Jack cheese, chorizo and rocket) was a mega-sarnie that I'd be glad to chow down on again … I reckon it's pretty good value too at seven quid. The Tommy's margarita is spot on and the Mai Tai is more than commendable.
Barrio Central is casual and colourful and a great place to keep in mind for a fun night out in Soho.

The home of Amigo Happy hour... pure genius!
This is a venue that doesn't shy away from fun- it's a smash up of Latin colour and cultures, with the occasional foosball table wall mounted for effect.
The drinks are well made, genuine ingredients (I will always feel good about a cocktail bar that prepares it's mint before a shift and then keeps it damp and fresh) and pretty swiftly made. I also like the staff, get in and get on with a genuine passion for what they were making. Not too hot on the coffee front, but the food was generous and well made (nice nachos- which isn't that easy to find in the city).
They have a nifty friends of Barrio card too- this one gets you 10%-30% discount at the bar, food and drink at mates rates, 2-for-1 cocktails, preferential bookings, secret gigs, and a birthday drink. It's also free.
I'd come back, especially for the happy hour- great prices between 5-8pm. Plus my co-workers tell me there are lots of pretty ladies, if that matters :)

I popped in here with a couple of old uni friends on a Wednesday night. The decor is amazing a bit like you've stepped on to the set of Blue Hawaii but not cheesy in the slightest.
It was a great place for us to have a good catch up as the seating is divided up all around the floor into nooks and booths so you feel completely private.
We were there on the launch night so were lucky enough to taste a selection of cocktails that were being served throughout the night. Some of them blew our heads off and I didn't make it passed two sips of a blue coconut cocktail but the watermelon caprihana was one of the nicest drinks I've had in a long time and went down nicely with the calamari that we had to soak it all up.
All in all a great venue for a girly catch up just watch out for strange blue coconut cocktails . . .
