Toomie's is probably our favorite restaurant in Alameda. (I don't count the South Shore Cafe as a "restaurant" but rather as a "diner." ) While living on the island, we would come here several times per month and consider it one of the best thai places we've been to around the globe. All the flavors are spectacular. Now that the staff knows us, we don't even have to ask for the extra spice tray or order or Singha Beers. I get my sticky rice after a quick reminder from the staff. Toomie herself came by our table often to chat. Despite being an institution now to which people come from afar, service has only improved, food has never suffered.
Toomie's is truly a gem, not just for Alameda!!!
