“Pho opened in Clerkenwell in June 2005 as London's first Vietnamese street food restaurant. We're small, informal and serve great value, deliciously healthy and authentically prepared Vietnamese food. At Pho we keep it simple. The short menu means...” more...

Went to this little place recently and it was recommended by someone who used to go for lunch regularly when they worked in the area. What a great little place. It’s cosy and has a proper menu, not just fast food. It’s in the middle of theatre land so is great before a show or maybe after. As it’s small it gets very busy though so booking may be an idea before a show. Thought the menu was great, lots of choices including some Turkish dishes. I had Calamari to start, which was very nice but quite a small portion. Then had the sea bream with smoked salmon and mash (which was a very decent sized portion) and a big portion of creamed spinach on the side. All this was really tasty and I think it was great for the price. If you went to a specialised fish restaurant I bet they would charge you around £17 for this fish dish. The desserts were yummy too. The fixed price menu is a good idea and is very reasonable in this day and age of rip off restaurants. Was quite impressed with this little place so hope they keep up the good food and reasonable prices.
I've been there a few times with friends.
Always was dissapointment. especially manager is not wrong person for a restaurant. Food is worst Mediterranean food I've tested.
And waiters talkes from behind you if you don't tip them

For the price it has to be 4 stars. We have been a few time now and the food has always been good. The portion sizes are small so I would recomend the 3 courses which are good value. Great for a quick meal either pre concert or if you are in a hurry. Down side - busy, cramped, sometimes have to share tables, no smiling staff - but always helpful.

Fantastic food and great service though i recomend booking through their website so not to miss out on a table. The falafel is great!

I went here on a friend’s recommendation and don’t think I’ll be returning! It wasn’t SO bad - it was just too crammed and the portions were just tiny! It’s very reasonable in price but you still expect a decent size meal, which unfortunately was not what my partner and I received. My chair was wedged in so that someone could fit an extra chair on another table, and believe me, there was no room even before! It made the whole experience quite disappointing. We were booked in for the 3 course meal but didn’t stay for dessert! Still, the food (despite portion size) was nice - but then again I never complain about food!

In terms of quality of food Vs price this is a great place to eat for lunch or dinner. The menu is varied enough so that all tastes are catered for.
The mixed mezze starter is delicious and plentiful and the salmon and mash dish I had was really nice. The desserts are a bit disappointing though. The apple tarte tatin left a lot to be desired (think mashed apple on floppy pastry) - not good, but the ice cream is ok.

The bistro is a great value place to eat in the west end, we have been many times over the years and have never had a bad meal. It’s based on set menu and you can have a one, two or three course meal based on a set menu. Its quite a mixed menu but I seem to always have the same things I can recommend mezze and kebabs as always good.
When you first sit down to get bread and olives (no charge) which is a nice touch. The staff are always friendly and you get a good atmosphere in said on all time that I have been

Oooh I love this place. It’s also been a while since I’ve been here and must go back soon. It’s the friendliest little place ever.
I love the staff here. They are fun and they make me laugh. But everyone has fun in here. It’s very tiny, and they pack in the customers a little too much, but not so much that you feel like you’re sharing your dinner with strangers (it’s a very fine line though).
They have a simple menu. It’s 8 quid for two courses and 10 quid for three. I’ve never been able to eat dessert afterwards no matter how hard I try.
It’s simple food. Leaning towards Turkish and some great seafood. i’d stick with these - whenever I’ve tried something different I’ve always been let down. But I adore their fish cakes so I rarely try anything else.
Even with a couple of beers, dinner for two works out to be twenty quid. If you were skint, you could easily take someone on a date here or for a birthday and make it look like you’d made an effort… always good…
and you really must try the brandy coffee before you leave…
