Morning Star Inn

Firstly I want to say the food is excellent, I have never been to a pub/restaurant and had food look and taste amazing, alot of credit to the chefs........ unfortunatley the same cannot be said for the waiting staff.

Myself and family have been to the Morning star on three occasions, each time celebrating an occasion, birthday, anniversary etc.

I will not go into every detail of each meal but on every visit the service is not good, on our most recent visit, a surprise family birthday meal for my fiance, I arranged for everyone to arrive 15 minutes before we did, on our arrival and her surprise me and my fiance sat down, within 5 minutes the waiter came over and asked if we were ready to order, we had not even been given a menu, when we said can we have 5 more minutes he looked at his watch and walked off!!! After ordering we received our starters and as I said it was very nice, we then tried to order more drinks for the table but it took more than 15 minutes for them to arrive, in saying this the restaurant was not busy. We then received our main course which again was very nice but not once did any member of staff come and ask if everything was ok!!!

When we had finished and asked and paid for the bill, we all started to leave and all 3 of the waiting staff where behind the bar and not one of them ackowledge us or thanked us!!!

Believe me I am not a snob and this is the first time I have left a comment like this but I do feel the waiting staff are really letting the good quality of food down, I would award the food 5* and the service 1*

Absolute exelent restaurant. Management and staff superb and food second to non. Food is standard of high class restaurants. A must try place.
