We went here New Years Eve year before last, and swore down that we’d never return. Got charged an extortionate amount per head for a 'set menu’ that was cold and uninspiring. We had to wait ages and when the starter came out (soup) we weren’t even offered bread with it! All in it cost us about £300 for 4, and we only had a couple of drinks. When we left before midnight they seemed shocked! Problem is they believe their own hype. They need to remember that their is more and more choice in the area. On that subject, worth giving Il Colosseo a go on Alexandra Road. Nice ambience, good food and value for money (the waiters don’t spend the evening flirting with your wife either!!)

This is my favourite restaurant. The service is second to none and the food is excellent. I recently had steak, which was cooked medium rare perfectly, a choice of lovely homemade puddings and also a complimentary limoncello. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Been there many times. Difficult one to write a review for as sometimes it is excellent and sometimes poor. Examples of the latter include poor standard food and the occasional dodgy (but always friendly) service. I continue to go there as the atmosphere is nice but it can be patchy.

Been here loads of times and would go back with no hesitation
Food is excellent, service is great and very friendly staff.Saturday night is music night which is a mixture of songs but you can get up and have a boogie and enjoy yourself. It's by no means deafening.Plenty of couples on their own got up and had a dance so if you don't like music or dancing then go during the week.
The food is not overpriced and I think the coffeee is about £1.50 you can pay more than that in some little cafe.
The puddings are to die for and make a change from the usual English restaurant pudding selection which is usually something with ice cream.
I don't know but Brit's seem more content with the restaurant chains such as Blubeckers (not cheap)average service and getting you out as quick as they can.
At the end of the day when I go out for something to eat I like good food, value for money, treated as a special customer and not having waiters hovering around waiting to show you the door.

We’ve been to Manhattan quite a few times and the owner and staff are really friendly. I agree that they can be a little pricey but the food is good and the atmosphere is great, although sometimes when they have the musicians in it can be a little bit noisy - so I agree that it is better for groups sometimes. Nice spacious place, we always enjoy ourselves.

The food is good, but very expensive for what it is. Rumoured to have David Beckham there sometimes. You can get stung for all the extras - about £5 for a bottle of water, and then they charge extra for veg, breadsticks etc. Not worth the money, there are much better Italians around in the area. We paid £75 for two of us one Christmas - I wasn’t even drinking as I was pregnant - we were in a group of 12, and they insisited on service charge.
And, owner now sent me sarcastic message as he doesn’t like my review! - only my opinion, isn’t this what this site is about? Oh - I got it wrong, only £3.50 for water…bargain hey?!?

I can’t imagine why David Beckham would go to Manhattan – by accident maybe? I havent been back there for years, perhaps it has improved but last time I went I recall the house red having the bouquet of nail varnish remover! I will say that there have been times when the staff have been very welcoming and the atmopshere good, but it is patchy and that red wine really put me off.
A large airy restaurant with modern decor. An interesting menu with plenty of unusual starters and main courses. The staff are all in uniform, friendly and attentive, although perhaps a little too pushy at times. A better venue for larger groups rather than for intimate twosomes. I have seen a guitarist singing and playing in the background on Saturday evenings.

Manhattan restaurant has gone out of buisness, hardly surprising.I read on another review site the manager threatened to hit a woman for complaining!
