Small and very cool jazz and blues club in 15th-century underground rooms, just a few steps from the Old Town Square in the centre of Prague. It’s tiny, and if you’re not there early you’ll probably find yourself wedged in a corner trying not to block someone’s view. But it has an excellent, friendly (and not entirely tourist) vibe, with live music every night.
The band was Czech the last time I was there, and they sang in English with a very funny (to me) accent, but they were a lot of fun to listen to: the guitar player especially was exceptional. The drummer and keyboard player were quite young, and looked like brothers. Although bashful, the keyboardist had some real flair. And they did the longest, funkiest version of “Come Together” I’d ever heard.
