Reliable and respectable supermarket. They do nice food, but I think they are sometimes lacking a little spark. An example: a coronation chicken sandwich I got from there recently had lovely tasty filling: chunks of chicken, tasty sweet sauce and big juicy sultanas. But the bread it was on was rather thick, meaning it was a bit dry overall.
This store is a bit of a weird shape, with a wider bit at the front. It used to be a bit mad with queues for checkouts all over the place, but they have sorted it out a bit now, with a ‘monoqueue’ for multiple checkouts. However I still have trouble finding stuff: maybe I’m just not used to their layout!
One feature to note is that they have a hot counter, including hot drinks that you can get yourself from a (posh) dispenser. Also the staff have always seemed friendly and cheerful. They let me collect for charity in there once too. How can I not like them?
