If you have lots of money and want to stay some place really chic, the Meurice qualifies. It's one of the only hotels in Paris that has three Michelin stars in its restaurant.

The service is as good as it gets. If you have to worry about the cost, the Meurice isn't for you. One of my favorite things to do is splurge and have a drink in the bar with uber incredible bar man William. Drink slowly! Great cocktails and even better people watching!

In a word: chic-Issime! As a regular of "palaces" of a certain town of the Coast, I used to think that true luxury didn't exist... Well it does: at the Meurice, everything is clean, pleasant, refined, tidy, spacious, elegant, ... and I could write 10 lines of this kind of adjectives! The beds are soft and firm at the same time, the marble bathroom is just magic with his shower looking like its levitating, all transparent. The setting is neat and elegant but never too busy ... In short a must! Well, if you can afford it or have someone inviting you;)

The bar here probably makes the finest martinis in Paris. They are especially good on a cold afternoon or evening when the wind is whipping down the rue de Rivoli outside. The atmosphere is warm and luxurious, and the service is perfect.

During WWII, the German occupiers ran Paris from this hotel. Ten or so years later, the last German commander, von Choltitz, walked into the bar and asked to see the manager. The old bartender immediately recognized him and ran off to do his bidding. Von Choltitz asked if he could see the room where he had decided to save Paris from Hitler's vengeance ("Is Paris Burning?"). After a quick look around, he declined a drink or dinner and ambled off into the mists of history.

Sitting in the bar, you can hear the peacetime von Choltitz much more clearly than his no doubt noisier wartime troops.

I recommend “le dali”, the brasserie, erm I mean the contemporary restaurant! of the Hotel Meurice. Frakly, it’s a breath of fresh air, it’s classy, cosy, nice and affordable and the atmosphere is friendly. There is piano playing in the background. Nothing to do with the awkward atmosphere is some hotel restaurants that can come accross as a bit cold. I like their “without & 100%” formula, like “without being cooked” for oysters (20euros) and “without holding back” (eat as much as you want) for the rotisserie (32 euros), “100% local produce” the fois gras terrine, “100% spring lamb” (32 euros). You have to get dessert otherwise it’s not funny!!!

An excellent example of "great gastronomy"... A perfect service, and very classy... The decor might be a bit plush, but eveything is absolutely delicious whilst still original! Of course the prices are equal to the standard of the restaurant... You can just get in, you'll love it!

A very nice hotel whose two restaurants I go to regularly: one has 3 Michelin stars and the other one is called Dali.
The chef for both of them is the very talented Yannick Alleno.
The advantage of Dali: it has the quality of a 3 star, with the prices of a good restaurant. And the cherry on the cake, the waitresses are really friendly.
