The restaurant “Siam Jaritz” is one of the best Thai-style places in Austria. The quality of the food is very good; the service is friendly and fast; the prices are OK. Ms. Jaritz and her son are cooking authentic Thai-style food, my personal favorites being Laab Nua (8.50 EUR), Gaeng Massaman Gai (11.50 EUR), Gai Phad King (11.80 EUR), and Gung Plamög Kua Gatieam Prik Thai (18,00 EUR). The service is very friendly, although you might expect a slightly different service in a Thai restuarant than Mr. Jaritz is offering. But wait: exactly this mix of Thai and Austrian style how the restaurant is run makes it so interesting. Booking is recommended but usually not needed. There are special lunch offers (3 dishes, each about 8-9 EUR), buffets (once a month), and cooking courses. Don’t forget to ask Mr. Jaritz about the latest trends in nanotech and quantum physics.

UPDATE: Unfortunately the restaurant closes as of 01.10.2008. A reopening is planned for spring 2009 at a different place in Klagenfurt.
