Ah, The Cave of Cheese. Where would I be without your cheesy delights? Your informative and friendly staff? Your ludicrously tempting window displays? Your alcohol made from whey?... Actually i could probably live without the whey booze, but the rest is absolutely brilliant.
Cheeses from all over the world, some you definitely won’t have seen before, fresh bread, meats… everything you need really (except the beautiful French dining companion, but they can’t work miracles right?).

I’m a picky, fussy eater most of the time. Unless I set my mind to it, do not stray far from my comfort zone. My comfort zone extends beyond chocolate but as I’m hyper aware of taste, I shun anything I am unsure of.
This place has almost cured me of that. I had never tried any of the cheeses and most were not ones I would have chosen for myself. In fact, I would have shunned them all, being not cheddar :-)
I bravely entrusted my palette to the man in charge and the large glass of wine I had to wash everything down with and braved the cheese and BOY was I pleased that I did.
Each cheese was wonderful and all but the Stilton I would have again in a heartbeat. I would never have ever tried a goats cheese ever and yet there I was ENJOYING IT!
I highly recommend one of their matching evening and not just as a personal event but as a corporate event too. It would make an excellent evening for any reason. For me, it was a birthday celebration!

Had the good fortune to attend a La Cave cheese and wine tasting evening recently and was truly a fine experience.
A nice range of diverse cheeses were provided from potent goats cheeses, which were really quite nice (and that’s from a non goats cheese liker normally) to a red wine washed delight.
All cheeses were explained and accompanied with suitable wine, tasty bread and a selection of cured meats and other nibbles.
Strongly recommended for small groups keen to have a fun and knowledge expanding evening with a slight difference.

Ohhhhhh…. yeah! That’s is some damn fine cheese.
Let’s get one thing straight I bloody love cheese. And not just posh cheese. I will eat everything from plastic cheddar and Aerosol smokey bacon goo to the finest smelly gruyere’s and stilton’s.
La Cave Fromage has it all and I was lucky enough to attend the Qype Guru event last night and sample some of the finest cheeses and wines they have to offer. I really wish i could remember the names of all the different cheeses…. but i can’t. But, I can remember their numbers! Number 1 (goats cheese with honey) was definitely my favourite - smooth, tangy and amazing with a little drizzle of honey.
We were very very well looked after last night so many thanks to the gang at La Cave Fromage and to @inspirationjunkie for organizing the event.
I’ll be back!

A cheese shop where you will find all type of cheese from Europe.
We had yesterday evening a degustation of 6 differents cheese: from smooth & light to strong & tasty!
The cheese degustation went with wine, white and red according to the cheese. The association was matching perfectly.
The staff is very friendly by giving advices and information.
La Cave a Fromage, with this French name, is a Europe escape which allow the mind to travel through savours.
Highly recommended.

One of my favourite local shops. The South African owner is lovely and has great suggestions, although you do feel as though you are being judged on how discerning your palate is when he asks you for your preferences.
Has a little sit down area where you can drink really affordable wine and sample a few cheeses. Even my boyfriend would appreciate the value for money! Only complaint is I wish it were open a bit later after work.

This is a great local cheese shop. It’s really approachable…everything is touchable and at eye-level. You don’t have to wait for someone to get the cheese for you! (All very sanitary, mind you.) The team is knowledgeable and affable. Great variety from many countries and in many styles. Highly recommended.

Oooooooooooooh eeeeeee.
thoroughly enjoyed my cheese tasting with fellow Qypers at La Cave. And highly recommend you pay it a visit - be sure to sample the booze made from whey and the utterly, utterly gorgeous black pepper goat’s cheese.

About a year ago something wonderful happened around the corner from South Kensington tube station - La Cave a Fromage was born. For cheese lovers this is the place to get your fix - with staff eager to find up to 1000 different cheeses to meet any and every requirement.
A modern take on cheese shops, the air is lightly chilled and the cheeses are easily accessable for you to oggle if you’re not sure what you’re after. From a cheese tasting event we had last night, we were reminded that curiosity is often rewarded. So bend away from your cheddars and camemberts, and open your mind to a whole world of different cheeses out there (many of which are stoacked at la cave!). And as Tim pointed out, they also do bread (baked fresh on site from next week), cold meats, preserves and unique wines.

Wow. Phenomenal.
Just a few steps outside South Kensington tube station you’ll find this extraordinary cheese shop. The first thing you might notice is that it’s modern: big clear windows, very open inside, clean and shiny and minimal decor, display cases along the wall that you walk up to rather than dividing you from the staff, tables and stools to sit at. Not necessarily what you’d imagine a traditional cheese shop would look like.
They import and sell cheeses from several parts of Europe: France, the UK, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, mainly. I was there for a tasting event and managed to try several, all were amazing. Whether you favour gouda or blue or brie or something a little more exotic, all the cheeses here are flavourful and challenging. They aim to supply something different from the chains. My fave was the goat cheese with pepper that had been soaked in armagnac (I bought three leaf-wrapped portions).
They do more than cheese too: bread (soon to be baked on site), some amazing sliced meats, and selected wines. Maybe you’ll be adventurous enough to try blaand, a Scottish fermented whey drink.
They really love cheese here: love talking about it, and love sending you on a cheese adventure.
Go. Go go go.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmy! Best cheese shop in London. I adore the stilton that’s been aged in port. The owners and manager are brilliant. The constantly changing line of cheeses is to die for. I’ll be back, hopefully sooner than later.
