I went to London last July and my brother took me here to have my hair cut. It turned out AWESOMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Like i changed totally and all my friends love my new hair >w<

Yoshie is rly cute and helpful. She helped me with choosing hair style and rly friendly. The time for the cut was only like 1h and the result was MAGNIFICENT!!

Now my hair's getting longer so today I may go again and have another hair style with Yoshie (maybe?) or any other staff there :"3

Review of Jubilee Hair Salon from 28 August 2012
I'm very picky about my hair style and thus hair saloon, leaving my hair grow for over a year until I can't manage it anymore (I have very long, thick and frizzy hair). I just don't want to pick a hairdresser next door for according to my past experiences, I always ended up enduring a bad hair style for months until my hair grew again. So I googled it and Jubilee saloon somehow comes up first with quite good ratings. I gave it a try this morning and it didn't let me down at all! Without going through any chemical treatment like straightening or perming, Yoshie gave me quite a natural-looking haircut. I'm very satisfied with my new hairstyle and shall definitely recommend this hair saloon to my friends.

I went to Jubilee for the first time today after passing it million times before and always seeing it packed. I had one of the latest time slots, which was at 7pm for a haircut, and both me and the stylist were punctual with the time. My hair stylist was Ryota and it was my first experience where the stylist gave much attention to detail, genuinely cared about my hair, gave me advice on how to take better care of my dry hair naturally without trying to sell me any products, so I was very happy. I always go to a stylist without an idea and let the stylist decide for him/herself what would suit me the best. Ryota was creative yet not too crazy, and I am very, very satisfied with the haircut. He was very genuine, also funny and friendly, and gave a nice head massage during the shampooing before the cut. I even asked him about dying my hair and said I would do it with him, if he thinks it would suit me, but he advised against it because he says he thinks my natural hair suits me the best. Overall, super great experience. I paid 42 pounds for medium length hair, and I feel bad because I wanted to pay extra but when you pay with card, this doesn't seem possible. And he told me not to worry about it. I obviously can't say much about other stylists at Jubilee, but Ryota is by far for me my favorite stylist in general after having been a regular customer at other Asian hair salons and Tony&Guy. Definitely recommend!

Review of Jubilee Hair Salon from 8 June 2012
I have been going to this salon for about two months in total, and everytime I go there always seemed to be a lack of manners from all of the starff but especially the nail salon. I had a few acrylic sets put on over this time and every time i went back for an in fill, one of my nails would have fallen off, and started to lift.

I mentioned this to the nail girl and she just blamed my daily activities and put it down to the fact I must have bene doing somehting to cause it.

The third time this happened I made an appointment for an in fill and and nail repair.

I rang up and made my appointment for 4 pm.

I was running five minutes late and turned up at 7 minutes past 4pm.

the nail girl didnt even look up at me and was doing another ladies nails. Wehn imade her aware that I had arrived she just told me to sit down and wait.  I explained I was on my lunch break and only have one hour and couldnt really wait. Abaring in mind I was running late i was shocked that evene after arriving nearly 7 minutes late she was still running over and didnt even apologies.

At 14 minutes past 4pm I was finally sat down. Again with no apology from her or any of ther other staff at the salon. The manager was no where top be seen and nobody seemed to be in the slightest bit bothered.

Once i sat down I explained to the nail girl I wa sno happy about waiting and she shouted extreely loudly "if you dont like it, go somewhere else!"...

Needless to say I collected my things and will not be returning.

I find it unbelieveable unprofessional that somebody is speaking to good regular customers like that and the fact that none of the other staff had anything to say and not once was there an apology is why im writing this review. I think this salon is very grubby in terms of decor and staff attitude has a lot to be desired.

Will not be going again, and will inform all my friends who go there for hair and nails of my experience. MAny owmen in my office use this salon and one even witnessed this as she was with me waiting to book in a hair appointment.

WOuld not reccomend for hair but especially not for nails.

Just got back from a perm and cut at Jubilee salon….

Was looking for a new stylist as my old one had left to move back to Japan – It’s always a little bit of a gamble with new salons, but I’m really glad I went to Jubilee today.

Jon was my stylist and he’s excellent – listens very carefully to what you are looking for, and really takes his time – I’m very happy with the result and only too happy to leave a tip too!

I definitely recommend the salon, and will be returning back there for sure!

Thanks again, Chris :-)

I visited the salon for a Yuko hair straightening treatment.

Result: Beautiful frizz free hair that will remain that way for at least six months.
Relaxed, uber chic salon, exceptional stylists, kool lounge style music ……
Wonderful fresh Lavazza coffee is heavenly.

Above all, given the salon’s Central London location, the treatment price was extremelly modest.

I will not be changing my hairdresser in a hurry.

Would highly recommend this salon.

Jubilee Hair Salon never lets me down. I’ve become a regular customer over several years. Their cuts are stylish with great attention to detail and amazing value for money. As someone who changes their hairstyle regularly, it’s great to have the chance to discuss a style change first. The results have never disappointed me. I’m always able to get appointments when I want them and always have this valuable opportunity to talk to the stylist first. I also love the interior of the shop which has a cool antique look that seems informal and relaxed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I took my friend for the first time today, she usually struggles to find a haricut and style she likes, but this time she loved it! Highly recommended

Review of Jubilee Hair Salon from 5 September 2011

I have always had problem finding a hairdresser who know how to cut asian’s hair, that I like and I can afford. Finding Julibee here with all the positive comments have prompted me to try them out last Fri. I walked in on Fri lunch time with no appointment, and Yumiko (only knew it was her when I paid at the end) greeted me and said she could attend to me right then. We chatted about what I want (and I didn’t really know apart from tidying it up), she explained my hair line and discussed various options of length and fringe. I was tempted to have my passed-underarms-length hair cut short to above shoulder, but Yumiko advised that I should give it more thought and get myself more mentally prepared before going for such a big change. Moreover, she paid attention to our chit-chats and remembered that I am attending interviews at the moment (following a redundancy), so she recommended a simple tidy up for now and leave the dramatic change for when all the interviews are over. The actual treatment was super, head massage during wash, continuous updates on her next step, advise on how to style my new fringe, and an offering of tea/coffee/water. Overall I enjoyed my visited and very pleased with the result. Yumiko is very skillful (8+ yrs experience, good english) and paid attention to everything you said. I can’t wait to get a job soon (naturally) so I can go back to see Yumiko to get a complete new look!!

omg! this salon is totally sucks! i wanted to do the colour but i dont want to bleach it as they suggested me to bleach it twice then dye it, so i chose the color which doesnt need to bleach (bleach cost 80pounds once, twice would 60.)
First of all, they had spent an hour keep discussing and testing the colour but the outcome is really sucks! the color isnt what i want and i paid 120pounds for it? i think is totally crap, they dont have experience for dye colour and you can see they need to keep discuss the color and testing something! i wont suggest anyone to go this salon especially for the color!!! not worth for sure!

I am so happy with my first visit to Jubilee Hair Salon. I happen to be one of those people who IS precious about their hair and was initially reluctant to try someplace new after my favourite stylist left the country, but upon a colleague's recommendation, I decided to give it a try. I had my just-below-shoulder length hair cut by Yoshie, who listened to what I wanted and told me exactly what she would be doing (I needed thinning out of my overgrown layers and a general tidy-up). I left the salon with my hair bouncing and headache gone, thanks to the amazing head massage I received during the shampoo. My shampoo, cut and blowdry cost £42, which I was extremely happy with, given by the fact that I've spent over £60 at each haircut I've had in London from mediocre stylists at - yes - top end salons. I can't wait to go back again and also for a pedicure when my holiday comes around.

Pretty ordinary salon. I went in there wanting a trim and layers and the guy (don't know his name as he didn't introduce himself) hacked off half of my hair which I really actually wanted to keep the length on. The wash wasn't anything special with no massage offered at all.

He had suggested even shorter layers to give me volume, but I didn't want that, and I don't think shorter layers can give volume unless you call a mullet as having volume. I had to tell him remind him that i wanted layers to frame my face. I paid £39 which i think is expensive for an ordinary salon where the service and cut wasn't anything special. I won't be going back and instead will be going to my old and better (but more expensive) salon.

My best friend who had a haircut there referred me to the place. I actually live in Manchester but I have never been able to find a decent hairdresser up here, until now. I have been to Jubilee twice now, both occassions having my hair expertly cut by stylist Tiger. He's the best I have come across, he listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions etc. I ended up having a bob (from having long hair for at least 10 years), which was a bold move but I am so so happy with it.
Unfortunately Tiger is moving back to Hong Kong so I will have to find another stylist. However, Jubilee is defitely the place I am going to go back to once I need a hair cut again (despite the distance from Manchester to London). I totally recommend this place to other Oriental girls :)

I have never been satisfied with my haircuts and it usually takes a week before it grows on me. But this is not the case at Jubilee. Thanks to Mika the stylist, I always LOVE my new haircuts, I'm so happy I can't help smiling as I walk out the hairdressers.

I was first refered to go Jubilee last year and have keep going back since then. No regrets. Price is average in London and I recommend it to everyone.

Unfortunately for me, I listened to the reviewers on here and went to Jubilee for a hair cut and a root touch-up. The cut was awful and the roots are now 2 shades lighter than the rest of the hair. I paid 100 pounds for this disaster and I will never go there again.

"Unfortunately" you listened to the reviewers on here? Everyone else has had pretty good experiences here. Haircuts are a very personal thing, no one can guarantee you'll be 100% happy but everyone seems to have been satisfied. Also, none of the reviewers commented on getting a colour which is quite a different service.

  • humanorgan, 11 June 2010:

Definitely agree with Darika. It's unfortunate you had a bad experience, but that cannot be blamed on the Qypers who have recommended the salon. If you didn't like it, why didn't you talk to the hairstylists about how unsatisfied you were instead of paying for the service like everything was fine? They are really reasonable and I'm sure they would've been happy to rectify any mistakes that had been made.

I am quite satisfied with my experience at Jubilee with Yumiko yesterday. For the first time in my entire life (shocking really), my stylist studied the patterns of my hair line before commenting on my desired look. She was very friendly and compromising. The result was more than what I could have asked for. Being a college student on a short exchange program, restyling my hair at the infamous expensive city of London was out of my agenda for a while until I came across Yumiko's website.

Review of Jubilee Hair Salon from 20 November 2009

My sister came back one evening about two months ago sporting such a dramatic new look that I almost didn't recognise her. I had to ask her a million times before she'd give me the details.

So I went in and booked an appointment after work earlier this week (turns out its just down the road from where I'm temping at the moment), two days before my graduation ceremony. Prior to this I hadn't actually actually paid for my hair and had been living the student life for a year or two going to model appointments at a salon just off Oxford Street. I'm a very low maintenance hair person and don't bother to brush it half the time.

Jubilee Hair Salon is located near Tottenham Court Road station in the Korean district of London opposite the food store. The place is home to great Japanese and Korean stylists. My stylist was Yoshie, whose name I got from an online review. She listened to what I wanted, gave me her own opinions on whether this would suit my face shape, and generally played it safe, letting me know whenever she was about to do anything, as opposed to just chopping. I also got reassurance as I was very worried about getting the fringe I wanted to try, having not had one for about 13 years. Seeing about 12 inches of hair fall in front of my eyes freaked me out a little but she did it so fast I didn't have time to dwell on it. I just thought, 'well that's done, not much I can do now!'. I also had about 3 inches cut off the rest.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, or even inside rather (nothing like a top London salon if I were to compare to other places I've been in the past), but don't let this fool you. I was also told that it had recently been refurbished.

I ended up paying £45 because of the length of my hair. Other reviews which I have seen online put the average price for women between £29 and £39. I was also told by my sister later on that they do student discounts. Compared to places like Toni & Guy its a bargain! I'd been quoted in the £30s on my appointment-making visit so was a little dissapointed but overall happy with the result, speed, and friendliness of employees.

After experimenting with a few different hair salons in London, this is one of the best places I’ve had my hair cut at.

Jubilee is an unassuming hair salon with a mix of Japanese and Korean hair stylists, tucked away along with some other Korean shops on Denmark Street.

For awhile, my sister had been asking me to try out Jubilee but I was actually very reluctant to as I wasn’t very impressed with how they had cut her hair a few times. She then changed her hair stylist and boom, that completely changed my mind about the place! Excited to try them out, I then made an appointment with them for my next hair cut.

My stylist was Yoshie who was very friendly and honest with her advice. She gave me some recommendations on how she was going to cut my hair and during the whole process she would always let me know what she was doing next.

I was very happy with the overall cut, she listened to what I really wanted. There were no miscommunications at all, it’s like she read my mind! Usually after I leave the salon I’d rearrange my hair after it’s been styled, but she styled my hair so well I kept it as it is!

The total price came to £34 which is reasonable for a wash, cut and blow dry in London.

If you’re ever in Jubilee, ask for Yoshie!

Review of Jubilee Hair Salon from 8 November 2008

after having the worst hair cut in my life last month by a guy called Hamilton Harris in greenwich! (he cut one side of my hair dead straight and shorter then the other side….) and adding too many short layers and leaving my hair super blunt that i ended up thining and layering my own hair the following 2 weeks.

i waited very patiently for a month to grow my hair again! lucky for me my hair grows every month, but the problem is that it needs a lot of thining each time i have a haircut!

it was time for me to have another haircut. I decided to go to jubilee hair salon because my friends been there before and highly recommended the stylist yumiko also known as betty.

a quick search on google and you can find her personal website with the salon contact and pictures. after a call to the salon i found out she only works fri and saturdays.
So i booked an appointment for friday.

she was very friendly, and focused on my hair, i told her my little problem with the previous haircut and she was shocked on how bad he messed my hair up! she read my mind about me wanting to grow the other shorter side, so told me she would not touch that part of my hair so i can grow it out.
I showed her some pictures of nicoles richies old bob hair style, which had pointy layers.
I wanted the pointy layers in my hair as i know it means a lot of thining, and said my hair needs tidying up!
throughout the whole process we chatted like we was old friends and was the loudest out of the salon, we just laughed and laughed over silly things.

she offered me tea once i sat down, and had a through consultation of how my hair will end up like, shampoo and massage was well done!

my haircut cost me £29, it was shoulder length which i think is very reasonable i walked out as a very satisfied customer!

I’m almost loathe to share this place as it’s the only hairdresser you can call on a Saturday morning and get an appointment for that afternoon.
Part of a selection of Korean shops in central London this unassuming hair salon looks run down and a bit dodgy if you’re precious about your hair but I heard about it from a beauty blogger and have been going there for years.
Good quality cuts for ridiculously cheap prices in central London. I have super fine hair which they think is very novel but always know what to do with to leave me happy.
Have referred friends who’ve also had a positive experiences including using it to get a convenient, budget blow dry before heading out in Soho for the night.
