I decided on booking this hotel after it had almost entirely positive reviews on another website. This was almost unheard of with all the hotels I looked at.
Also, it was excellently priced. We paid £132 for a double room, for a week, half board.
We arrived and were actually given a triple room (a double and a single), which was a bit small but had a TV, ensuite shower room, minibar, hairdryer and small balcony. On our last night the cleaner arranged our towels on the bed in the shape of hearts and covered them with rose petals. Which I thought was quite funny but my partner thought it was romantic. either way, you must appreciate the effort.
The staff at the hotel were fabulous, extraordinarily friendly and helpful, they really go out of their way to make sure you enjoy yourself.
The pool is a bit small (but the hotel only has 32 rooms so it’s never going to be really full), and also spends a lot of the day in the shade so is quite cold. There is a sun terrace with mattresses which are covered with clean sheets every day. Also on the sun terrace is a cold jacuzzi and a small children’s pool, which is very nice for dipping your legs into.
The sun terrace is a lovely place to enjoy the sun, and relax with books or whatever. The mattresses are very comfortable and it all feels quite private amongst people at the hotel.
The bar staff will bring drinks to you on the sun terrace if you like. The bar isn’t especially cheap - in fact the minibar in the room is cheaper. But the staff are very good.
There is free wi-fi in the lobby, bar and restaurant of the hotel. We could occasionally pick it up in our room, and also on the sun terrace. (who checks their emails when sunbathing? we do)
The reception staff were very helpful, they organised a Turkish bath for us and let me use their phone for free as the one in our room wasn’t working.
The hotel’s restaurant is one of the best in the area, and although we had a limited choice with the half-board menu, there was enough choice to keep us going for a week with one night off (when we had dinner in Marmaris).
Breakfast was a Turkish breakfast. Which I am a fan of. Tomatoes, cucumber, olives, bread, eggs (done differently each day), honey, jam and a selection of cereals as well as tea and coffee. I think you could request a cooked breakfast (English) but we never did.
Overall I would really recommend this hotel, particularly for couples or older people who want a quieter, relaxing holiday.
Icmeler itself, as a resort, is much smaller than Marmaris, and is therefore quieter, calmer and a bit classier.
