Small and very old pub near Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. This pub has a pool table, sports on tv, and a good history to it. It features as the den of dodgy protesters and criminals in Charles Dickens’ “Barnaby Rudge.” Dickens lived nearby, although in the time of the novel’s settings there were fields between the pub and London proper.
Nowadays the pub is still very much a regulars’ local, although outsiders are reasonably tolerated. It can be gloomy inside, cosy in the winter, and there are tables outside for the summer and smokers too.
