Traditional (but with a twist) Hungarian menu. Prices are reasonable for such a nice spot, just verging on being fancy.
The twist means that you might find a Hungarian dish that uses monkfish instead of chicken, which makes it a nice change from other places you might have eaten at on your visit to Budapest. There will be a few dishes that enter into pretentious/fancy territory: I had an ice cream soup for a starter, for example, which was quite tasty and very refreshing after a hot day.
Service is very good. Both indoor and outdoor seating, and there’s a large courtyard adjacent. The night we were there there was an outdoor play being put on in the courtyard. In effect, by having dinner outside, we got free dinner theatre since we were right beside it. I have no idea what the play was, since it was all in Hungarian, but it got pretty intense towards the end.
As the name implies it’s also a coffee house, so you can simply stop in for a drink if you like.
